We do have some troubleshooting steps to help fix the issue.
Check that the BLUETOOTH device is turned on and the BLUETOOTH function is activated on the device.
In the meantime, please try:
If the speaker is not displayed on the BLUETOOTH device, turn off the BLUETOOTH function on the device, and then turn on the BLUETOOTH function again. It may improve symptoms.

We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. During a video call, the sound quality may deteriorate depending on the conditions of the communication link.
If you hear muffled, distorted sound or low voice from callers when receiving/making a phone call, adjust the volume level of the BLUETOOTH device to an appropriate one, and then adjust the volume level of the speaker with the +/- (volume) buttons on the speaker. We've listened to every type of music there is, podcasts, etc. and its performed flawlessly. Battery charge has been great, like really great! I only charged it the after I took it out of the box and its still going strong! It has really good bass and the sound really carries well with this speaker. I like the rubberized tough exterior, and its already been through a few small rain storms, nothing major, but a more than a sprinkle and its all good! The fact that I can use it vertically or horizontally has actually been pretty useful for me lately, we'll stand it up vertically and set it in the tight corners and the sound is great plenty loud. I tried to use my existing Sony app I use for my Sony headphones, but that didn't work. I had to download ANOTHER Sony app in order to use the advanced app functions.... not a deal killer, but I really don't need another app on my phone. Oh well, I did it and its not a big deal. I have to say this has become my go-to speaker, but also my kids favorite... when they're outside this is the speaker they use! Shooting basketball, swimming, etc... I'm really not worried about them hurting this since its rated as waterproof and feels pretty rugged. I would definitely recommend!

This feature is called line-shape diffuser and it compresses the sound through a narrow opening in the front that surprisingly gives it a wider field of sound. Unlike a traditional speaker where the sweat spot of sound is in the very front, line-shape diffuser allows the sound to be as powerful to each side. The bass is great and can be adjusted through the mobile application. The mobile application is actually very useful and allows control over the sound profile or you can use the preset. The application also allows connection to your music library and you can configure favorites. A single speaker sounds great or you can get creative and combine up to 99 additional speakers for an extreme surround sound setup. I plan to buy at least one extra to take advantage of the stereo connection feature. Charge time was quick at the box and the battery life has been excellent using for outdoor cookouts. It is dust and water resistant so you use outside without having to be so delicate with it's use. Sony has took a portable speaker to the next level with this technology and and the look and output will not disappoint.

I have had a number of small bluetooth speakers from all brands, more expensive and cheap. For the size and anything near the price, these are absolutely the best I have had soundwise. The sale price made it a steal. It is a little bass heavy and a little missing in midrange but most like that and it is actually impressive in it's size to have that covered so well. Bought it as a gift. Recipient was very happy and as impressed as me. Only wish it had an extra input plug for use without Bluetooth (only reason I gave it a 4) but I am assuming in this price range they had to keep the costs focused on sound quality which I am ok with. It is also very attractive and not cheap looking as well. Just bought so can't attest to how durable but if it holds up well it will be a great purchase.

We are sorry to learn you're having Bluetooth pairing issues with the speaker. The SRS-XE200 requires the A2DP Bluetooth profile for Bluetooth playback. If you're unable to pair the speaker with a BLUETOOTH device, please follow the steps below to help troubleshoot this issue.
• Place the speaker and the BLUETOOTH device within 1 m (3.2 ft) of each other.
• If the (BLUETOOTH) indicator is not double flashing in blue, press the(BLUETOOTH) button. You hear voice guidance (BLUETOOTH pairing) and the(BLUETOOTH) indicator starts double flashing (pairing mode).
• If the speaker is not displayed on the BLUETOOTH device, turn off the BLUETOOTH function on the device, and then turn on the BLUETOOTH function again. It may improve symptoms.
• If the issue is still not resolved, change the sound quality mode from Priority on Sound Quality to Priority on Stable Connection. To change the setting, use the Sony | Music Center app to select Settings → Sound → Bluetooth Connection Quality → Priority on Stable Connection.

-While the speaker is running on power from the rechargeable built-in battery, the sound may become low in the event that the rechargeable built-in battery is running out of power and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction.
