    the speaker only gives out 3 1/2 hrs. of playback in between charges..horrible, when advertised for 25 hrs.

That means getting your friends together, turning up the music to full volume and dancing all night to a clear, rich sound. With our X-Series range of speakers, you can make the most of every single moment, power parties you’ll remember forever and always live your life out loud.

      The sound may become low in the following cases. This is not a malfunction.
      When the built-in battery is running low and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly, while the speaker is being powered by the built-in battery only.

      When the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port.

      When the ambient temperature of the speaker is high.

      If the sound becomes low while in use, follow the procedure below.
      1. Turn off the speaker.
      .2. Charge the built-in battery sufficiently.

    It worked great for 5 weeks, then it turned itself off and will not turn on again. Apparently, the return period is over, no matter what, so I guess I am stuck with a paper weight. I'll try to contact Sony, but I don't expect that to go anywhere.

    Sony's new XE300 Portable X-Series Bluetooth Speaker is a complete homerun! It was super simple to setup and sync to our phones (Samsung S10+and Pixel 6) which has not always been the case with other products we have tried. It is solidly built with a rubber coating that protects both the controls and the charging port that allows you to confidently take it outdoors. Charging is via a USB-C plug that is behind a protective flap and the battery life is very good lasting for several hours. The Blue Tooth range is quite good and operates flawlessly. The device can also act as a speakerphone for your cellphone although the internal microphone doesn't provide the best quality. And the sound! This thing has amazing bass for its size and Sony has somehow designed the speaker to spread the sound around in almost 360 degrees which means that not only can it fill a room but it is even effective outside. The overall sound quality is well balanced with good midrange and high frequencies to complement the bass and keep it from sounding "boomy". Overall, I highly recommend this speaker to anyone in the market for a portable speaker that won't make you compromise on sound quality!

    Bought this after to replace an old hk onyx studio 4. Not as loud nor did it sound as good. Wound up returning it andgetting an hk onyx 6 on open box.

    Love this new booming Sony XG300 Bluetooth speaker! Large size provides booming sound. Battery lasted across multiple days of relatively high volume playback. I like the lights on the ends. The rubber handle strap on the top is nice and sturdy and feel confident that it will hold and not detach. Connecting to my iPhone, MacBook, and Mac Mini were super easy as you would expect. While it's IP67 dust/water proof, I'm still going to try to keep it out of the elements as much as possible. Though, I can't wait to take it tailgating this fall before football games!

Both of the XE200s speakers are facing the same direction so you can get true Left/Right separation like the artist intended. And with the Line-Shape Diffuser, the sound spreads further to the front area of the speaker, allowing you to enjoy the same sound quality whether at the front or to the side of the speaker. This means everyone in your venue can dance to the same music, feeling the same sound quality.       By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience.       Try some steps below if the sound is low:
      Check if the battery is charged sufficiently.
      Turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device.
      Depending on the connected BLUETOOTH device, volume adjustment on the BLUETOOTH device may not change the volume level of the speaker (i.e. the(power) indicator does not flash).
      When the volume of the speaker sounds low, adjust the volume level of the BLUETOOTH device to an appropriate one, and then adjust the volume level of the speaker with the +/- (volume) buttons on the speaker.
      Also, please make sure to install the “Sony | Music Center” on your smartphone to change the sound settings and adjust the Equalizer to tailor the sound to your personal preference.

If you feel the battery life is shorter than the times listed on the manual or the specification webpages, lower the speaker's volume and check if the battery lasts longer. When you use the speaker at a high volume (or a maximum volume), battery consumption may increase, and the battery life becomes shorter than the times listed on manual or specification webpages.

    Sony – SRS-XE300 Wireless speaker. The new Sony wireless speaker has full sound and great battery life. After using the speaker for 4 hours it still reports full battery. Audio range is stated as 20Hz to 20 KHz. When tested it will get well past the 20 KHz but only produces quality lower end to 40 HZ. This is not out of normal for any speaker that is this small. At only 9-1/2” long, 4-1/2” tall, and 5” thick/wide and weighting in at 2 lbs. 13 oz. If forced to reproduce audio in the 20 Hz range it will sound as if it is just “flapping”, not really sound, more like mechanical noise. This is by no means a knock on the sound quality, this speaker produces high end quality music at above normal listening levels while staying clean and clear. Downloading and installing the Sony Music center App was easy as it should be. Of note is that on first install it stated that in order to continue with the install it needed to register the speaker. Not having time at that moment to deal with that I opted to quit and do it later. Once I had more time to deal with this, I started the installation again and was surprised it did not make that statement again and just installed without asking any questions. Maybe starting the installation was enough for the App to register the speaker the first time? A note on this, I did link the speaker Bluetooth with the phone I was testing with (iPhone 12 Pro) and just tested the sound output and then had to wait to do further testing when I had time. Once the App was installed, I tested phone calls using the speaker. When placing a call, you can select to use the speaker before placing the call. When receiving a call, it is answered on the phone and then you are given an option to select the speaker. I felt this was functioning correctly and each call placed or received was clear with little to no echo. Being outside on the patio for calling was better than in the house. The echo canceling seems to work better when it’s outside. This will most likely improve with further firmware updates. I next tested the Apps ability to pair more than one speaker. This used to be an option directly on the speaker, sometimes it would work and sometimes it would not, and you would have no idea why it didn’t work. With the move to this being in the App you can see why and when it will work, very nice to see this. For this test I used this speaker and 3 other Sony SRS speakers. It only worked with an SRS-XB33, and then it was in party mode. In order to get a stereo mode link you have to have 2 of the same speaker. My next 2 tests fail to link the speakers. They were an SRS-XB31 and a much better SRS-XB501G. Neither one of these would link together, however the App did see them both and allow full control of them. In the app you have control of Sound settings, Power settings, Device connection, as well as many other options depending on what speaker is selected and connected Bluetooth. There are other options I did not test like DJ effects as well as addons that can be downloaded. The speaker charges with a USB-C cable supplied, however just like all devices today, no power adapter is supplied. My overall impression is this is a definite step up from the SRS-XB33 I have been using. The speaker is being used next to the swim spa and the IP67 water rating will be put to the test, but I have no doubt that it will be absolutely fine.

      We're so sorry if you find the speaker doesn't get very loud and it hasn't performed to your standards. Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. The sound may become low in the following cases. This is not a malfunction.

      • When the built-in battery is running low and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly, while the speaker is being powered by the built-in battery only.
      • When the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port.
      • When the ambient temperature of the speaker is high.

      We regret to hear that the speaker had to be returned. We hope you will consider Sony again in your future purchase.

    The sony speaker only have bass quality but very low in sound volume general wise

      Depending on the connected BLUETOOTH device, volume adjustment on the BLUETOOTH device may not change the volume level of the speaker (i.e. the (power) indicator does not flash). When the volume of the speaker sounds low, adjust the volume level of the BLUETOOTH device to an appropriate one, and then adjust the volume level of the speaker with the +/- (volume) buttons on the speaker.

      By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. To get the most out of the volume, turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
