We do have some troubleshooting steps to help fix the issue.
Check that the BLUETOOTH device is turned on and the BLUETOOTH function is activated on the device.

In the meantime, please try:
If the speaker is not displayed on the BLUETOOTH device, turn off the BLUETOOTH function on the device, and then turn on the BLUETOOTH function again. It may improve symptoms.

We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. During a video call, the sound quality may deteriorate depending on the conditions of the communication link.

If you hear muffled, distorted sound or low voice from callers when receiving/making a phone call, adjust the volume level of the BLUETOOTH device to an appropriate one, and then adjust the volume level of the speaker with the +/- (volume) buttons on the speaker. To resolve this, please try resetting the speaker by pressing and holding the (play)/(call) button along with the MEGA BASS button until the device powers off (this should take about 5 seconds or longer). We are sorry to learn you're having Bluetooth pairing issues with the speaker. The SRS-XE200 requires the A2DP Bluetooth profile for Bluetooth playback. If you're unable to pair the speaker with a BLUETOOTH device, please follow the steps below to help troubleshoot this issue.

• Place the speaker and the BLUETOOTH device within 1 m (3.2 ft) of each other.
• If the (BLUETOOTH) indicator is not double flashing in blue, press the(BLUETOOTH) button. You hear voice guidance (BLUETOOTH pairing) and the(BLUETOOTH) indicator starts double flashing (pairing mode).
• If the speaker is not displayed on the BLUETOOTH device, turn off the BLUETOOTH function on the device, and then turn on the BLUETOOTH function again. It may improve symptoms.
• If the issue is still not resolved, change the sound quality mode from Priority on Sound Quality to Priority on Stable Connection. To change the setting, use the Sony | Music Center app to select Settings → Sound → Bluetooth Connection Quality → Priority on Stable Connection.

And with the Line-Shape Diffuser, the sound spreads further to the front area of the speaker, allowing you to enjoy the same sound quality whether at the front or to the side of the speaker. This means everyone in your venue can dance to the same music, feeling the same sound quality.

By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ to ensure optimal listening experience. There is a built in EQ that has 20 points of control for Bass, Midrange, and Treble. You can also change the speaker set up from Mono to Stereo to suit your needs. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
