Thank you for your time writing this review. We are sorry but the SRSXE200 speaker is not specifically advertised as having Extra bass. If you are looking for the Sony speaker with Mega or Extra bass, we recommend our XG300, XG500, XB43and XB23.

Pair with IP67 Waterproof, dustproof1 and shockproof design, this speaker is made for even the strongest elements. Thank you for taking the time to review your SRS-XE200 speaker. We are so sorry if the volume of our XE200 did not meet your expectations and that it needs to be returned. This function can be adjusted on the Sony Music Center app. There is a built-in EQ that has 20 points of control for Bass, Midrange, and Treble to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. You can also check the app that you are using (for audio) or your source device for sound settings and adjustment. At the time of purchase, the audio output of the speaker is set for monaural audio playback. You can also change the speaker set up from Mono to Stereo to suit your needs.

Hi User836741, thanks for sharing your experience with the Sony - XG300 Portable Speaker. We are genuinely sorry to hear that it has not performed as you expected. We do have some useful recommendations we'd like to share, if what you're looking for is to enhance the sound quality.
1- Download the Sony Music Center app and adjust the Sound quality settings and the Equalizer to your preference
2- Switch the Bluetooth connection to Priority on Sound Quality
3- Press the MEGA BASS button on the speaker for a real enhanced bass effect
4- Turn on the Live Sound Effect within the Sony Music Center app, you can go to Settings > Sound > Sound effect > Live Sound

Both of the XE200s speakers are facing the same direction so you can get true Left/Right separation like the artist intended. And with the Line-Shape Diffuser, the sound spreads further to the front area of the speaker, allowing you to enjoy the same sound quality whether at the front or to the side of the speaker. This means everyone in your venue can dance to the same music, feeling the same sound quality. Know that we take all feedback seriously and will pass your suggestions along to the proper team for future enhancement.

By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. To get the most out of the volume, turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
