Sound quality may also vary depending on the source, connection, and music you are playing. If the sound becomes low while in use, follow the procedure below.
Turn off the speaker.
Charge the built-in battery sufficiently.
Adjust the volume level on the BLUETOOTH device and speaker.

Sound quality and volume may vary depending on the source content. Turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. Make sure to also charge the built-in battery sufficiently. The sound may also become low in the following cases:

-While the speaker is running on power from the rechargeable built-in battery, the sound may become low in the event that the rechargeable built-in battery is running out of power and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction.

-When the ambient temperature of the speaker is high.

Thank you for taking the time to review your SRS-XE200 speaker. While we're glad you love the Blue color of the speaker, we're so sorry it hasn't performed to your standards and you find the speaker doesn't get very loud. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. Depending on the connected BLUETOOTH device, volume adjustment on the BLUETOOTH device may not change the volume level of the speaker (i.e. the(power) indicator does not flash). When the volume of the speaker sounds low, adjust the volume level of the BLUETOOTH device to an appropriate one, and then adjust the volume level of the speaker with the +/- (volume) buttons on the speaker.

By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. To get the most out of the volume, turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

Thank you for taking the time to review your SRS-XE200 speaker. We are so sorry if the volume of our XE200 did not meet your expectations and that it needs to be returned. This function can be adjusted on the Sony Music Center app. There is a built-in EQ that has 20 points of control for Bass, Midrange, and Treble to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. You can also check the app that you are using (for audio) or your source device for sound settings and adjustment. At the time of purchase, the audio output of the speaker is set for monaural audio playback. You can also change the speaker set up from Mono to Stereo to suit your needs.

Thank you for your time writing this review. We are sorry but the SRSXE200 speaker is not specifically advertised as having Extra bass. If you are looking for the Sony speaker with Mega or Extra bass, we recommend our XG300, XG500, XB43and XB23.

The bass effect and sound quality will also depend on the source and quality of the music you are playing. We suggest playing quality audio for the best listening experience. We also recommend using the Sony | Music Center app. It has a sound quality setting and equalizer adjustment that you can use to adjust and enhance your listening experience.
