I have tried JBL extreme 3 and the charge 5 but Sony has the much better sound for this portable speaker. Jbl has too much treble and mids, yes you can adjust the eq but Sony out the box has the much better sound quality I'm looking for. The Sony app has a better set-up, very sophisticated.

Some downfalls are there's not much bass and no way to adjust bass levels, the sound is very directional if you are not standing in front of the slit then it does change the acoustics not for the better, the highest volume setting is not that loud which is lame.

Decent bathroom speaker

It definitely is waterproof for the shower. Maybe I am losing my hearing in my old age but JBL and even ONN speakers seem to have better clarity in sound. Still it works for what I got it for.

Good when it was working
