Hi Posty, we're glad that you like the sound quality of your speaker. We're also sorry if your having an issue with the mic. In the meantime, please try restarting the speaker. Restarting the speaker does not delete its pairing information. The pairing information, however, is stored on the speaker when the speaker is turned off. Make sure to charge the built-in battery sufficiently. The sound may become low in the following cases. This is not a malfunction.

-While the speaker is running on power from the rechargeable built-in battery, the sound may become low in the event that the rechargeable built-in battery is running out of power and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction.
-When the ambient temperature of the speaker is high.

It's important to note that the sound performance can vary depending on the specific outdoor environment, including factors such as wind, background noise, and open spaces, which may affect the perceived loudness.

In some cases, you might find that the speaker's sound may not be as loud as desired for outdoor use, especially in noisy or wide-open areas. While we're glad you appreciate the sound quality, we're sorry to hear you find the speaker doesn't get very loud as you would like. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. Depending on the connected BLUETOOTH device, volume adjustment on the BLUETOOTH device may not change the volume level of the speaker (i.e. the (power) indicator does not flash). When the volume of the speaker sounds low, adjust the volume level of the BLUETOOTH device to an appropriate one, and then adjust the volume level of the speaker with the +/- (volume) buttons on the speaker.

By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. To get the most out of the volume, turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device.
