Thank you for telling us about your experience with your SRS-XE300 speaker. We're sorry to hear if you find the speaker doesn't get very loud. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. Depending on the connected BLUETOOTH device, volume adjustment on the BLUETOOTH device may not change the volume level of the speaker (i.e. the (power) indicator does not flash). When the volume of the speaker sounds low, adjust the volume level of the BLUETOOTH device to an appropriate one, and then adjust the volume level of the speaker with the +/- (volume) buttons on the speaker.

It’s crystal clear whether listening to music, podcasts or using for a phone call. Out of the box I was able to connect easily after downloading the app; the whole process only took about five minutes. I was able to listen for about six hours before it died, as it didn’t come fully charged from the box. However, after about an hour on the charger it was back up to a full battery and I was able to listen for about 21 hours, although not consecutive. I paid very close attention to how much use I was able to get out of one charge because my current Bluetooth speaker requires charging after about eight hours of use and takes almost three hours to charge, so I was very impressed. When you power the speaker on it connects almost immediately to the last device and is ready to go. The app that you have to download is actually pretty cool; it synced to my Spotify and my Apple Music and it let me create playlists. The speaker design is a bit bulky but the shape makes it able to fit pretty much anywhere. If you stand it vertically you can turn it in various directions to project the sound a certain direction, or you can lay it horizontally and direct the sound upward which really fills the whole room. The audio settings came perfect out of the box so I haven’t adjusted anything but it looked easy to do in the app. Overall I am so incredibly satisfied with this speaker and have already given away the other one that I had been using before. Sony definitely hit it out of the park!

It took a while to get the APP to work properly. Adjusting the bass and treble did not produce good enough sound for indoor music. Muddy bass and truncated treble. Phone conversations were fine. |Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I pulled the Sony SRSXE200 out of the box, which was very easy by the way, and turned it on, connecting it to my phone in less than three minutes. Using Sony's app, I was able to see that it was charged to about 60% when I first got it. I typically listen to more audiobooks than music. I went out in the garage and started working while listening to my audiobook, but it sounded way too deep. I opened up the app and using the equalizer, I brought down the lows and increased the mid range, which made the quality of the voice much better. After listening for an hour, the battery showed to have 56% left. That's a little better than the advertised battery capacity, but that may be due to the fact I was only listening to an audiobook, using less energy to drive the speaker. I did play some music a little later, though. For it's size, the audio volume and quality available is quite surprising. I reset the equalizer settings, and played music for about an hour at 1/4 volume. The battery was showing at 50% after an hour, which is wonderful. I am extremely satisfied with this speaker and looking forward to several years of use.

But what exactly does that mean for the listener? It means you get a louder speaker with more bass and now you can stop trying to find an awkward place in the middle of the room for speaker. Let's be honest, most people are placing a speaker on a shelf of table and listening from one side of it anyway. Sony capitalizes on this by delivering amazing sound quality by pinching the speaker openings to a smaller opening. And to take it even a step further, there are 2 passive radiators at the top and bottom that also bounce against solid surfaces. Okay, what I am trying to say is that this little speaker delivers deep bass without blowing our the speakers from being "too loud" Sony hit a home run with this speaker and yet again they are snowing other big brands that they are ready to take over as the #1 portable sound experience. If you're in the market for a portable speaker, don't look any further. This is the speaker you want to get.

Right out of the box, the packaging is really good for this unit. Includes the unit, charging cable and instructions. The sound quality on this is great, however it felt a little muffled at times. I've docked this one star due to needing to download the Sony Music Center app. You need to download the app to change EQ settings. Set up was a breeze as the speaker showed up on my phone and I was able to quickly pair it to my phone. Build quality is terrific, this spraker is dust, water and shock proof. If you like getting caught up on streaming services this speaker pairs really well with a phone, meaning that if i want to just enjoy a movie outside all i need is this speaker and my phone. I dont know why a handle isn't attached to this speaker, missed opportunity on Sony's end... Overall I'm happy with this product and it'll definitely get some really good use during cookouts and outdoor gatherings. It's a great product that will spend most of the time in the kitchen.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a larger bluetooth speaker for going to beach, park or drive-in's. I have a smaller one, but wanted something more robust. Enter the Sony SRSXE200. Large in size, rechargeable, easy to connect and plays music, and that is all there is to it. Here are some points I wanted to share with the masses. 1. Does get loud and only seems to distort at higher volumes. So that is a plus in some regard. 2. Battery is decent in how long it lasts. Nothing to be excited about as almost any other this size has the same play time. 3. Takes a while to charge, but then again the battery is large, so makes sense. I left it plugged in overnight and it was ready by morning, but when I was awake it was not fully charge by the time I went to bed. 4. Quite heavy, but some people like heavy things as it makes them think something is worth the price. 5. I was not able to really hear any sound coming from front area of speaker (it has a notch so it has a "way" of sitting). I thought there would be more audio coming from there, but does not seem that way. 6. Side speakers are good size and can handle the volume nicely. However, unless you like wispy highs, mediocre mids, and almost no bass, I would suggest a pass on this one. 7. I played a 808 test track and although I was not expecting it to rumble off my table, it just did not perform even slightly. I am not sure if the bass portion (it there is one) is too tight and will not allow it to work correctly, or there is not one to begin with. 8. The app is useless. if you connect your phone to the speaker, you have more controls than the app gives you. Only things it does is volume, turn on or off, let you select your streaming service (pandora, spotify, etc) and that is about it. Oh sorry, it asks if you would like to join some service or something. So it seems like a marketing thing they stuck in there to get more interest in their devices. So there is no need to download the app (even though it said it did when I connected the first time) unless you want another program loaded on your device that does not do anything. 9. I will use this for large areas that just need sound or background distraction. But for listening to my favorite music, or hearing words with low tones (like movie dialog) I will stick with the smaller one I have for now.

The XG300 thrives with clarity and sounds great enough when equalized and/or paired with another Sony speaker, other than that don't expect heavy bass nor loud thumping sound. The built in retractable handle is also nice.

The technology has come a long way. From distance to audio quality to the number of devices that can connect at the same time. Some speakers “claim” it can do all of that but fall short when using it outside the their testing labs. Whether its drop connection, not able to manage audio from 2 different sources to pairing issues most speakers have problems. However, the SRS-EX200 Portable Bluetooth Speaker doesn’t have any of these problems. I was able to connect flawlessly to my laptop and phone. Switching between audio wasn’t a problem. Just had to turn make sure audio wasn’t coming from one device and play it from the other I’ve use the SRS-EX200 on a 2 hour conference call connected to my laptop. No one could tell the difference between my mic and the SRS-EX200 mic as I switched between them. The battery life was good. About 16 hour of play back (conference calls, music, phone calls ) before it drop to 20%. The quick charge function is So all the little things and small improvement (pairing seamlessly, quick charge, managing 2 devices) make this a great buy. I think the biggest drawback is the App. I don’t see a need for it and didn’t improve or hurt the experience
