Hi HeatherG, We are sorry to hear that the SRSXE300 did not meet all of your expectations.

The sound may become low in the following cases. This is not a malfunction.
When the built-in battery is running low and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly, while the speaker is being powered by the built-in battery only.

When the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port.

When the ambient temperature of the speaker is high.

If the sound becomes low while in use, follow the procedure below.
Turn off the speaker.
Charge the built-in battery sufficiently.

The speaker has an operating range of approximately 30 feet (10 meters) within a line of sight but will vary depending on the surrounding conditions. It is recommended to use the speaker within this range.

NOTE: Communication range will vary according to whether walls or other obstacles are located between the devices, the material used in the intervening walls, the presence of Radio Frequency (RF) interference and other environmental conditions, and the type of software being used, if applicable.
