We're so sorry if you find the speaker volume doesn't get very loud. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. To get the most out of the volume, turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
• While the speaker is running on power from the rechargeable built-in battery, the sound may become low in the event that the rechargeable built-in battery is running out of power and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction.
• If the sound becomes low while in use, follow the procedure below.
1. Turn off the speaker.
2. Charge the built-in battery sufficiently.

Only knock I have on it is the sound is not so great outdoors like when I am tailgating or in my backyard. Battery life if not great either.

Great portable Bluetooth speaker for all uses

The speaker has a tube like design. With that in mind, you don’t have to worry about it rolling around because they design it with 2 feet that’s located underneath the speaker which keeps it stationary. The speaker was easy to setup and pair. The instruction manual does not have any text, but the illustration and number guide is easy to comprehend. To get the most out of the Bluetooth speaker you will need to install the Sony Music Center and the Sony Fiestable app. The apps are easy to find because they have QR codes for both iOS and Android on the packaging box as you unpack the speaker. I also like how it it prompt me to download the apps with the download links after I paired it to my iPhone. The speaker is made of plastic with a nice rubber carry handle. It’s also covered in a nice woven fabric type material. The handle can be easily popped up for carrying, and. pushed back down to lay flat when not needed. The speaker is also IP67 dust and waterproof, with all day battery life. The sound quality is really good. You can make it sound even better choosing audio presets from the Sony Music Center app, as well as customizing your own sound using EQ sliders. You can also change the color of the speaker lights, the light pattern, or completely turn off the lights using the app. The speaker has an AUX line in for use with non-Bluetooth devices. It also has a USB-A port if you’d like to plug a USB cable into the back of the speaker to charge up your cell phone, tablet, or other small devices. The speaker is great for taking it to the pool, beach, picnics, etc. It does have some weight and size to it. It’s not the type of speaker that you can throw in your bag. The instructions also show that it can be paired with another SRS-XG300 speaker, as well as some other Sony speakers for an impressive sound experience. Unfortunately, I could not get that feature to work. I tried creating a group with the Sony SRS-XG300 and my Sony SRS-XB31, but it kept giving me an error. After numerous attempts I gave up. The speaker has push button controls located on the speaker. They all work fine, but if I was Sony I would make one change. That would be not having the Play/Pause button used for forward and reverse functions also. If someone at your party wanted to change to the previous track or go back to the next track, there’s no forward or revers button. You have to press the Play/Pause button 2x to go forward, and 3x to go back. There’s plenty of room on the speaker to add those buttons. It’s not like they were cramped for space. The speaker can be charged via a USB-C connection. The speaker includes a power brick with an attached USB-C cable, so you don’t have to worry about trying to find a charger for it. Overall, I’m enjoying this speaker and hope to get a lot of years of use from it.

Not the best range of sound but it's pretty good. There is no handle and it can be a little difficult to carry sometimes.

Sony quality sound that's highly portable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so impressed with how Sony continues to reduce the size and weight of these portable speakers while continuing to improve the sound. At 1 lb and 9" long, the SRSXE200 X-Series is another well made portable speaker that is light enough to go anywhere, but loud enough to be used poolside. With the IP67 design, and charging port cover, I haven't had any issues with water or dirt impacting performance when taking this speaker camping, kayaking, or to the pool. In the box is the speaker with carry strap, USB-C charging cable, and manual. Setup is seamless, I pressed the bluetooth button, and within seconds a connection prompt appeared on my Android phone. Select connect and you're done. I did charge it fully out of the box, and have used it for 8 hours straight, and for a total of ~15 hours prior to the next charge. To get even more functionality, you will also want to install the Sony Music Center app. This allows for customized audio settings and controls the Party Connect functionality. The sound quality, especially for the size, is fantastic, and will fill a room with quality sound that has depth and tone at all ranges. The bass isn't overpowering and the treble isn't tinny due to the combination of Sony's Line-Shape Diffuser build and X-Balanced technologies. Other features to note are Echo Cancelling technology to allow multiple parties to speak using the speaker for calling. This supports clear sound from both people talking, and doesn't cut anyone off. I found the built in mic to be a bit limited on the distance it will pick up my voice, but this isn't my primary use for the speaker, and I consider this limitation to be minor. Another unique feature is the "Party Connect" option. From the app, this function allows for up to 100 Sony compatible speakers to be linked for large rooms, outdoor venues, and parties. Lastly, from the app, there is a Stereo Pair function that allows pairing of two speakers for stereo sound that provides portable sound for an immersive sound experience, or even movies. Overall the SRSEX200 gets a strong recommendation from my active family. To date, I have taken this speaker hiking, camping, sports events, to the lake and the pool, it has been dropped multiple times, accidentally kicked, and caught in a rain storm. No matter what happens, the speaker still performs well, can keep up with my activity level, and the sound cannot be beat from such a portable speaker!

-Check if the device is compatible with the Party Connect function. Devices compatible with the Wireless Party Chain function are not applicable for connection.
-Update the pre-installed software to the latest version on each and every speaker to connect for the function.
-Update “Sony | Music Center” to the latest version before setting up the Party Connect function.
-Make sure that all of the speakers to connect for the function are located within 1 m (3.2 ft).
