      Hi Franiou,

Thank you for taking the time to review your SRS-XE200 speaker. We're sorry to hear that it hasn't performed to your standards when it comes to the sound quality and the unit had to be returned.

To ensure optimal listening experience, we recommend downloading the Sony Music Center app. You will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume. Additionally, if you find the bass sound can't be heard and there is ambient noise or another speaker nearby, the Ambient Noise Sensing function may activate and cause this issue. You can deactivate the Ambient Noise Sensing function using the Sony Music Center app or speaker button.

Note: When the Ambient Noise Sensing function is activated, the speaker detects environmental noises during the music playback. This function will help reduce power consumption and preserve the battery by cutting out bass sounds that will become hard to hear because of the ambient noise.

We hope that you will shop Sony again in the future. Thank you for your feedback.

      Regards,
      Jess Sony_US

The Sony XE300 is a sharp clear sounding speaker with a decent amount of bass to it. Not only does it sound good but it's also a distinct classic Sony style to it. It's a minimal style that doesn't gravitate any attention to it. Overall if you're wanting a clear sharp sounding speaker without the bass taking over the XE300 is an excellent speaker to considered. My first couple of hours with the Sony EX300 to be honest left me feeling disappointed. The sound coming out was just flat sounding almost muffled with the Sony ClearAudio+ equalizer. Even after adjusting the equalizer by increasing the bass and treble, some of the songs with strong bass ended up with distortion at higher volumes. Once the speaker started to break in after playing music for 5-6hrs straight, things started to sound much better. I started to notice how much clearer and sharp the mid-highs were sounding accompanied by some mid-bass. It really does a good job of sound reproduction that is more on the neutral side, that allows all parts of the song to shine without being taken over by harsh treble or overbearing bass. Sony is known for its excellent audio quality and it shows here. I ended up just sticking with the ClearAudio+ since it does a good job with all genres of music. The bass that it outputs it’s decent, but for some that are in favor of that pounding bass might be left disappointed. Overall I I enjoy the quality of the sound reproduction from the EX300. Some of the features I like from the EX300 was the IP67 rating. I was able to take it to the beach without worrying getting damage from the water or sand. Another feature that comes in handy sometimes is the included mic. It does a good job of handling calls without any complaints of the mic quality from the other end. Useful when you’re phone is not near to quickly answered a call. Battery life is very strong I ended up with around 60% battery life left with music constantly playing at around 40%-70% volume right around 7hrs of playback. Of course your mileage might vary depending on the source and level of the volume, but so far it’s been very good. With support for party connect you do have ability to pair up to 100 speakers for the ultimate party setting. The Sony Music Center allows you adjust some of the settings like the equalizer and smart power options that can extend the battery life by making adjustments to the sound output by monitoring the sound levels from the environment. There’s also a Fiesta app for some DJ sound effects. Overall I would highly recommend the Sony XE300 speaker for it’s great sound reproduction, that is backed by a solid battery life. It’s a speaker that not only looks good but sounds good too.

Hi PepitoC, Thank you for providing feedback on our Sony SRSXG300. We apologize for any confusion caused by incorrect information regarding the battery life. Please note: Actual performance time may vary due to the volume, songs played, surrounding temperature, and usage conditions.

The battery life of the XG300 is indeed expected to last for approximately 3-4 hours, provided that the volume level is set to 50 (MAX.), MEGA BASS set to on, and Lighting function enabled.

If the built-in battery is fully charged (using a BLUETOOTH connection), it can last for about 25 hours provided that the volume level is set to 24, the MEGA BASS sound effect is activated, and the lighting function is deactivated.). Hope this helps!

      Hi SamC,

Thank you for sharing your honest review. We regret to hear if it hasn't performed to your standards when it comes sound quality. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. The XE200 has a Line-Shape Diffuser that will help your music reach further, even to the side of the speaker. This means everyone in your venue can dance to the same music, feeling the same sound quality. Plus, with a portable size and handy carry strap, you can take it anywhere you go with ease.

By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. To get the most out of the volume, turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

Setting up the Sony SRS-XE300 was pretty simple; as soon as the Bluetooth connection was established, I could play my music. If you're looking to change the audio/EQ settings, you can also download the Sony Music Center app. However, the app left me desiring more features. Otherwise, pairing the device to my phone was a breeze. Overall, the build is high quality, aka feels solid and would be okay thrown into a bag and tossed around (not encouraging doing that, though). However, I wished this came with something that made it portable, like a handle or some other attachment. It may be challenging to hold this with one hand if you have small hands, especially with the nice smooth matte finish. As expected from Sony, the audio is pretty good but not exceptional. I was missing some deeper Bass when placing the speaker upright. Bass improved when lying it horizontally. However, for its intended use, outdoors, and portability, his is a perfect companion for anyone looking to bring music outdoors without the fear of it getting a wet or thrown in the sand. Some additional features I enjoyed exploring were the ability to have conversations through the speaker thanks to the Echo Cancelling technology and the USB-C quick charge. On a single charge, I can continue to play music for up to 24 hours, and if the juice is out, a quick 10-minute charge results in 70 minutes of continuous playback. Not bad. Despite some of the pretty neat new features, the sound quality from the speakers leaves me a bit disappointed especially compared to the fantastic quality of their headphones. For that reason, for this price point, I would recommend holding off on this unless your priority is looking for something that is dust, water, and shockproof. In this case, you win in some areas and lose in others.

Hi kmonke, We're sorry to hear that the shape and bass/volume level of this speaker did not live up to your expectations. To ensure optimal listening experience, install the Sony Music Center app to adjust the equalizer and and set the BLUETOOTH connection quality to "Priority on Sound Quality". The “Priority on Sound Quality” preference provides compatibility not only with SBC but also with AAC and LDAC* for music playback of high sound quality.

And please note: The sound may become low in the following cases. This is not a malfunction.

When the built-in battery is running low and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly, while the speaker is being powered by the built-in battery only.

When the rechargeable built-in battery is running low as a result of long-time use of the speaker at a loud volume even though the speaker was connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port.

When the ambient temperature of the speaker is high.

If the sound becomes low while in use, follow the procedure below.
      Turn off the speaker.
      Charge the built-in battery sufficiently.

I wanted a larger bluetooth speaker for going to beach, park or drive-in's. I have a smaller one, but wanted something more robust. Enter the Sony SRSXE200. Large in size, rechargeable, easy to connect and plays music, and that is all there is to it. Here are some points I wanted to share with the masses. 1. Does get loud and only seems to distort at higher volumes. So that is a plus in some regard. 2. Battery is decent in how long it lasts. Nothing to be excited about as almost any other this size has the same play time. 3. Takes a while to charge, but then again the battery is large, so makes sense. I left it plugged in overnight and it was ready by morning, but when I was awake it was not fully charge by the time I went to bed. 4. Quite heavy, but some people like heavy things as it makes them think something is worth the price. 5. I was not able to really hear any sound coming from front area of speaker (it has a notch so it has a "way" of sitting). I thought there would be more audio coming from there, but does not seem that way. 6. Side speakers are good size and can handle the volume nicely. However, unless you like wispy highs, mediocre mids, and almost no bass, I would suggest a pass on this one. 7. I played a 808 test track and although I was not expecting it to rumble off my table, it just did not perform even slightly. I am not sure if the bass portion (it there is one) is too tight and will not allow it to work correctly, or there is not one to begin with. 8. The app is useless. if you connect your phone to the speaker, you have more controls than the app gives you. Only things it does is volume, turn on or off, let you select your streaming service (pandora, spotify, etc) and that is about it. Oh sorry, it asks if you would like to join some service or something. So it seems like a marketing thing they stuck in there to get more interest in their devices. So there is no need to download the app (even though it said it did when I connected the first time) unless you want another program loaded on your device that does not do anything. 9. I will use this for large areas that just need sound or background distraction. But for listening to my favorite music, or hearing words with low tones (like movie dialog) I will stick with the smaller one I have for now.

There are a lot of great things about the SRS-XE200 but a couple that make it miss the perfect mark. One, and maybe this is being nitpicky, but the lack of an actual charger (you get an exceptionally short cable, but no brick) coming with the unit just soured the unpacking process for me. At least the unit was packed in entirely recyclable material, with little wasted space. Setup was pretty straightforward with my iPhone, requiring the Sony Music Center app to be installed. One thing that makes this less user friendly than a similar Bose unit I own is that you have to manually turn it on before the app will pick it up. Had no issues syncing with Amazon Music, even via the Music Center app. The other 'odd' thing I had happen was that I had the unit set to auto turn-off after 15 min without use. For whatever reason that didn't happen, it stayed on overnight, self-connected to my iPhone in the morning, and blasted a commercial from an ad that played in a game - waking my wife up (she was happy...). I haven't had a chance to try to cause this again, but thought I should mention it. The actual build of the unit seems really solid, likely waterproof/resistant (didn't test...), and I think it could take quite a beating if you took it camping or something. The connected strap I think ties into that. The sound quality is pretty good, though it did seem a little 'throaty'. I didn't see a huge difference when using the EQ in the Music Center app to change levels. It certainly can pump out the volume and bass. I did not have the opportunity to pair with another unit, which apparently is a thing.

Hi ShanGus, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your Sony SRS-XE200. We're glad you're enjoying the solid built quality, IP67 rating, ease of setup, excellent audio quality, and punchy bass of this speaker. We also appreciate your feedback about the lack of a USB AC adaptor. You can use your existing or any commercially available USB AC adaptor to charge this speaker.
With regards to the Auto Standby (power saving) function issue that you had, it is possible that the speaker is still connected to your phone and it is connected using HFP (Hands-free Profile) BLUETOOTH connection. But good to know that you haven't had encountered this issue again.

      Hi MiguelG,

Thank you for taking the time to review your SRS-XE200 speaker. We're sorry to hear you find the speaker doesn't get very loud. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. Depending on the connected BLUETOOTH device, volume adjustment on the BLUETOOTH device may not change the volume level of the speaker (i.e. the (power) indicator does not flash). When the volume of the speaker sounds low, adjust the volume level of the BLUETOOTH device to an appropriate one, and then adjust the volume level of the speaker with the +/- (volume) buttons on the speaker.

If the Sound becomes low while in use, refer to these helpful links:
      https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-xe300/v1/en/contents/TP1000611675.html
      https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/speakers-wireless-speakers/srs-xe200/articles/00278737

Very dissappointed! Purchased this for walk-up music for youth baseball tournaments. Batters could barely hear it when hanging on the backstop 10 feet away. Spectators could not hear it at all.

The Sony XE300 portable X Series packs a lot of punch in a small package. Most of us have had out share of bluetooth speakers over the years however when you take this speaker out of the box you can feel the quality as soon as you pick it up. The weight of the speaker gives it good stability and shows you that Sony didn't skimp on quality by using cheap plastic components. The speaker was already charge to 70% when I opened the box so it didn't take long to top it off to 100% using the included USB C cable. Thank you Sony for using USB C in this product since most of us already have many USB C products around the house. There is no need to download the Sony Music center app to use as a basic bluetooth speaker however there are some cool features that let you add sound effects to whatever music you are playing and allow you to adjust settings on the speaker When I first saw the Line diffuser design I was unsure if this speaker could pump out some serious sound but boy was I wrong. I used this speaker in my garage on a Saturday while I was doing some projects and I wife came out thinking I was having a party. The line diffuser design created a high quality sound that filled my garage without any issues. The speaker also has a IP 67 rating so it is fairly durable. I look forward to using it out by the pool or at the beach. One great feature that Sony included is the ability to link up to 100 speakers which will allows you to continue the party in multiple spaces at the same time. Battery life is great on the XE300 as I was easily to get about 24 hrs on a single charge and in a pinch you can get about 1 hr of usage time by charging for only 10 minutes. Overall if you are in the market for a rugged, portable bluetooth speaker that produces great sound then the Sony XE 300 is a great choice.

I was so excited when Fedex showed up at my door with this wonderful thing. When I unboxed I was surprised at the hefty packaging. It was well done, clean and beautiful. Once unpacked, I plugged it in, chomping at the bit to experience the sound but I wanted to make sure it was fully charged first. The reported 25 hours of battery life for a speaker this size floors me and I was ready to put it through its paces. Asthetically, it is beautiful. The grey cloth cover is gorgeous and the retractable handle is a great touch and very sturdy. On the back is a cover for the connections and battery and ambient light buttons that when closed is flush with the surface. the ends are the wonderful bass with a coupld of LEDs that Sony uses in its SRS line everyone will be familiar with. The LEDs do change and "dance" to the music. Let's get to the sound! No matter your music pleasure, I don't think the XG300 will disappoint. I started with Disturbed's Sound of Silence to catch the lows and highs and bass. All I can say is WOW! I'm in love! I moved on to Bohemian Rhapsody. Treble sounded extremely clear and crisp. I played with the bass-boost button but preferred it on and then left it there. It never became muddled or muddy. I then moved on freely to listen to a wide range of my favorites from Creed, to Kansas, Garth Brooks, to Matchbox Twenty. I then worked back to the oldies and goodies with CCR and Lynyrd Skynyrd. The SG300 never played a bad note. I lost track of time, but I never actually hit the end of the battery in my testing so I apologize that I can't attest to the 25 hours. It certainly lasted longer than I jammed out. I know at louder volumes the battery will drain faster but I had no issues. I'm super happy with this speaker.
