These steps may also help resolve the issue:
-Keep the speaker away from a microwave oven, wireless LAN, etc.
-Bring the BLUETOOTH device closer to the speaker. If there is any obstacle between the speaker and the BLUETOOTH device, move it out of the way.
-Locate the speaker farther away from a TV, radio or tuner, etc. since noise may occur in broadcasts.
-There are some BLUETOOTH devices that can have the BLUETOOTH connection quality changed. If your device is compatible with this function, select “Priority on Stable Connection (SBC)” for the BLUETOOTH connection quality. For details, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the device.

However, I do believe there are better options out there. I would have returned it, but I was a day short on the deadline. Definitely try it out if you're just looking for a speaker at home. It's not an outdoor speaker.

Okay, but could be better

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this as an exchange for a warranty replacement (JBL boombox) it’s not in the same class as that speaker. I will compare it to my JBL Xtreme 3. It doesn’t have a light to monitor battery life. There are three little lights (power,Bluetooth,&, megabass) and to find out the battery percentage, you have to pop open the back piece where you charge and press a button that says “Battery -Battery Care” . The vocals comes out muffled, and the sound is good for high drums, but so-so with low bass. I walked out of range to see how far I can go before it loses Bluetooth signal; and it’s about the same range as my Xtreme3. The problem is that the Bluetooth signal doesn’t pick back up, even if I turn off my phone’s Bluetooth, it takes the speaker a long time to power down. You have to press and hold the power button for about 30-50secs to reset, and for the speaker to reconnect Bluetooth. The party lights are giving overcompensating, it’s not Party box if you was DJ’ing for a party, You get what you pay for, and Sony needs to do a refresh on this particular model, simply would be key and better voice ohms and better bass would be best too.

The sound is very flat and hollow with very limited bass. There is a “Mega Bass” button, but I can barely tell a difference. The Bluetooth functionality is great, very quick and easy to set up although I haven’t tested the range. If Inhad to do it again, I’d save the money I spent on this speaker and put it toward a higher end one.
