Thanks for letting us know about the fact isn't that loud for you. Make sure the MEGA BASS button is enabled, as this function can enhance the overall loudness and bass of the speaker. Initializing the speaker resets all settings, including volume, to their default values. To initialize, while the speaker is on, press and hold both the (play)/(call) button and the MEGA BASS button until the speaker turns off (5 seconds or more). It can fill a small room with good sound but once taken outside for outdoor fun, it loses all credibility as the sound has no real reach. I have an older $75 apeaker from Amazon that sounds way better. Too bad I can't return this item, I just tried it this weekend for an outdoor event and everyone complained on how low it sounded.

(Provided that the volume level of the speaker is set to 24, the sound effect is set to MEGA BASS, and the lighting function is set to off.). It is extremely quiet and muffled at any volume no matter the setting. It sounds like a speaker with a towel wrapped around it. Never again will I purchase a sony speaker
