Not a Bad Buy

I need a party/house speaker a litter louder with bass. Also I did not want the speaker volume to be control with phone/T.V volume control. Other than that sound pretty good.

Posted .Hi Sharmila, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your SRSXP500. Unfortunately, Bluetooth microphones are not compatible with this speaker. However, you can use a wireless mic. It just needs to be able to connect with 1/4” standard mic input. To ensure optimal listening experience, try to downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune your SRSXP500 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ. The XP500 combines superb sound with plenty of party features to make it a fun and versatile speaker. With Powerful Party Sound by the X-Balanced Speaker Unit and the front high-efficiency tweeter, it sends out rich, clear, and high-quality sound. Great sound, decent battery, pretty lights.

Compared to others in it's price range, this one really blew the others out of the water. It sounds crisp and the bass is deep and full, but not to the point that all you hear is bass. The battery life is good, but not perfect. If being used for something like an all-day cookout or a party, I think it would need to be plugged in before the day is over. I haven't paid enough attention to the battery life to know exactly how many hours it has, and it is not short enough to be an annoyance by any means. I haven't, and honestly probably never will use the karaoke microphone/guitar jack, so I can't comment on the quality of that feature, but it's there. This thing is big and pretty heavy, if stood up like in the picture, it's about 24in tall, 10in wide and 12in deep. The lights are nice, and change colors and patterns along with the music. They aren't too bright or too dim. They could easily be seen in daylight, but aren't so bright that they hurt to look at in the dark. My tip would be to put this thing in a corner with the grille facing out and leave it plugged in if you're going to be using it a lot. The bass will sound even fuller and it won't die on you if left plugged in.

Great highs and mids, no deep bass.

I am a bass head and this speaker doesn’t produce any deep rich bass. If you are listening to a dance song, it has the kick that has your heart bumping, but no deep bass to shake the room. The JBL Partybox 310 is a better alternative to the Sony and overall a better listening experience. If you don’t care about bass, then the Sony is a very good speaker, but the JBL blows this out the water and it is not even close.

This one here, is by far the best large speaker I have gotten. This is not a tiny backpack speaker, this one is 2ft tall, and has some weight to it. So it isn't going to get blow off the table, or just easily knocked over. Built in battery for 20hrs. I haven't tried more then 10hrs yet, and this is simply working awesome. The built in USB, that allows me to charge my phone at the same time is great... especially away from home. Pairs via blue tooth in a short few seconds, and you are ready to go. Now for the important stuff... sound. OMG, the bass. Deep verberating, and just rocked my deck. You have your favorite songs, fire it up... and the entire block is going to know you are jamming. LOUD. Full volume is going to be WAY too much for most.. So you are going to have no problem to host with this bad boy. The light system is slick, adds a little touch. Muted and faded, but noticeable. And with the easy to use app, you can change the colors or turn them off. I am looking forward to get another one, so I can do the party link. But that is going to take some time. But when that comes, this is easily going to replace any need to have mounted outdoor speakers on the deck. Need the tunes? Get the speaker.
