Hi wind, Thank you for the feedback on your experience with your SRSXP700. If the volume seemed too loud, please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune your SRSXP700 and adjust the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ.

Hi Mslanae, Thank you for the positive review! While we're glad you like the Bluetooth range of your Sony XP500, we regret to hear that the volume level did not live up to your expectations. The maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet.
To ensure optimal listening experience, please download the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools like an equalizer to fine-tune your speaker and maximize the volume to your liking.
