Sony needs Bass and louder sound

This speaker fits the bill! It’s portable and loud! The product easily allows you to connect your smart device or phone for those jams you are looking to hear. The bass is on another level! Seriously it was shaking my house! You use the Sony app and everything seamlessly connects. I didn’t experience any Bluetooth issues. I was able to even hook it up to the peleton bike which made the workouts even more fun! The. Add in the cool lights and it was a party! I highly recommend this speaker!

The maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet. Make sure to keep the speaker away from a microwave oven, Wi-Fi, TV, radio or tuner, etc. since noise may occur in broadcasts. We can also select “Priority on sound connection (SBC)” for the wireless playback quality of the speaker for a better listening experience.

To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet.
Turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device.
Check that the connected device is playing.
To ensure optimal listening experience, install the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools like an equalizer to fine-tune your speaker and maximize the audio to your liking. Thank you for the review and we're sorry to hear the sound issue you're having with your speaker. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. If you have use the speaker where it is likely to be in contact with water. Please drain the water inside the speaker. The sound quality may change when water enters the speaker section of the system. If you have used the speaker in a location where may have been in contact with water, try the following procedure.Wipe off any moisture on the speaker's surface. Put the speaker on a dry soft cloth with the fabric part facing down to drain any water that may have collected inside the speaker.
If you have not used the speaker in a place of water, turn off the Equalizer or Surround (VPT) settings in the Music Center app. Check this link for details on how to change the settings on the app.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is a great speaker. Don't be fooled by the fact that it's called a Portable speaker. This thing is not something you slide into your backpack. This is bigger than some cheaper sound bars and produces a lot more sound. I love that it is water resistant. I don't have any concerns taking this to the beach or pool and I have no issue using it outside even if it might rain. I'm not going to play this underwater or during a downpour, but I don't need to worry if it gets a little wet. It connects quickly and easily to Bluetooth and has all your basic physical plug ins in the back. I really like that it has a way to plug in a mic or guitar. There have been a few times that I've been a part of a party, family reunion or other event where no one had a microphone and speaker system or megaphone. Having this double as both and still being so easy to transport is great. I personally don't need a wireless amp, but if you play the guitar I'm sure it would be a much more convenient on the go option than trying to find a place that has a plug or hauling around a lot of extension cords. The one thing that did irritate me about the speaker is that in all the documentation for the speaker that came in the box, it said you had to download the app to turn off the light. I was really irritated at first because that should just be a button and why should I get an app just to be able to turn off the light. Well, there is actually a button on the back of the speaker that will turn off the light so you don't need the app to control that. But I still hate the way companies keep trying to get you to download apps, and its not even their basic app either. So please, if you're going to use an app can you integrate it with the other apps I already downloaded from your company? Please?

Not loud at all

This is not usually the case with our XP500. Sometimes, audio quality may depend on the quality of the source being played.
The “Priority on sound quality” and “Priority on sound connection” modes are available as options for the playback quality of BLUETOOTH audio streaming. “Priority on sound quality” enables you to perform playback settings of, not only SBC, but also AAC and LDAC, so that you can enjoy high quality sound via BLUETOOTH connection, whereas “Priority on sound connection” provides you more stable BLUETOOTH audio streaming. “Priority on sound quality” is the default setting.
- Priority on sound quality (default setting): Optimal codec is automatically selected from AAC, LDAC, and SBC.
- Priority on sound connection: SBC is selected.

We had been using a JBL Extreme 3 and it was loud enough for us parents, but the kids just couldn't hear it. Was leaning toward the JBL Partybox, but this one happened to be on sale so I picked it up. This thing thumps rather well and has very little distortion. Plenty loud for the parents sitting around the area. Out in the field??? It could be louder. But then again, it can ALWAYS be a little louder, right?!? I can't really say much about the battery as we haven't really had to use it very long without being plugged in. I will say that there is a noticeable difference in volume when it's plugged in. We had zero issues playing it at full volume during warm ups and between innings for multiple games without recharging it. Overall, it was a good purchase. Now if we can get another parent or two to also purchase and link up....
