Hi EdelaineF, We're sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the battery performance and sound level of the speaker. When newly opened, the speaker does not have full battery charge. You need to fully charge the speaker to be able to meet the 20-hour play time. As for the sound, making sure that the volume is raised on both the speaker and mobile device can increase the sound level.
