The sound is nice and crisp, with good bass and it fills my room with enough sound. But it's not a replacement for any shelf system. It's a large, bulky portable speaker that is good enough for an outdoor TV or stereo set up. Worth it for $100-140. Not for over $200, let alone for its current msrp...
