Super nice speaker

It’s smaller than the 700 version but it still packs of punch. I’m absolutely thrilled with the base button as I can alter how much base there is if I’m watching TV compared to when I am listening to music.

It's an okay speaker

Sound quality is fantastic, volume - when plugged in - is incredible. Once it's unplugged and running on battery, the max volume drops significantly. It's still pretty loud, but it was just a touch louder than my jbl extreme it was replacing. Ultimately returned.

Cons: * Heavy and bulky: Not the most portable speaker for frequent travel. * Pricey: It's an investment compared to smaller, more budget-friendly Bluetooth speakers. * Some sound distortion at max volume: Audio quality can suffer slightly when pushed to its limits. Review The Sony XP700 is a party powerhouse! If you're looking for a speaker that can fill a room with loud, punchy sound (especially booming bass) and keep the music going all night, this is a great option. However, high frequencies aren't the most distinctive, and it's both large and on the expensive side, so it may not be the best choice for everyone.

Perfect Christmas gift for the wife

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw this speaker while roaming through BestBuy and heard music coming from one of three speakers which where all the Sony XP series. the sound quality was very nice, but I was thinking what I would need it gigantic speaker for. Two Christmas parties this with my wife being the life of the party I knew that this would make the perfect gift for her. I search online looking for a good quality karaoke machine but then realized that "party speaker" was what I needed to search for. Review of the speaker. Like I said earlier the sound quality is amazing, I can connect via Bluetooth and there is even a Sony app that allows you to download your music library. I had to purchase microphones to use for karaoke. this machine is light and easy to move around unlike the xp900. This speaker is also very loud with nice base. the only downside would be that you can't put this on a pole tripod.

The only thing stopping it for a 5 is that in an open area like at a baseball game it is not loud. If you plug it into an outlet it gets louder but compared to other speakers it’s not that loud enough.

The maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. If the sound is low, please check the following:
Charge the built-in battery sufficiently.
To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet.
Turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device.
Check that the connected device is playing.
