We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. To get the most out of the volume, turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

• The maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction.
To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet.
• Turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device.
• Check that the connected device is playing.
• Charge the built-in battery sufficiently.

Please make sure to download the Sony Music Center App. This function can also be adjusted on the Sony Music Center app. Additionally, there is a built-in EQ that has 20 points of control for Bass, Midrange, and Treble to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. You can also check the app that you are using (for audio) or your source device for sound settings and adjustment. The XP700 is built for venue-filling sound. With Omnidirectional Party Sound provided by the X-Balanced Speaker Unit and the front and rear High-efficiency Tweeters, it sends out rich, clear sound in all directions.

There are 2 mic ports on the back, 1 of which can be used as a guitar port as well. Please try the mic input on the left and then try the guitar on the right. Make sure the guitar port is not in guitar mode (there is a little button next to the port)
