If you only wanted for your pool area, party event or even to the beach with a normal crowd is great. Crystal clear sound and battery last long.

And we regret to hear that the volume level of this speaker did not lived up to your expectations. The maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet. And by downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

You can have it plugged in or not battery life is great used it for a 4 hours on max vol and still had battery for the next weekend

It would have been better to utalize anywhere if it was lighter or on small wheels. It is very heavy which prevents you from wanting to take it everywhere!

Mostly use on patio for grilling nights.. also use for tail gates. Great sound from Sony speaker. One thing that stands out, the app is useful for customized sound and set up.
