My husband bought one about a year ago and our 18 year son kept taking it to his room. So I decided to buy another one as a Christmas gift for the hubby. He loves it. If you want loud then is for you!! It’s Bluetooth and connects really quick. It lights up different colors when music is playing. It’s very durable and will definitely last a long time. It stays charged for a long time too! You know it’s good when we now have two in the house haha.

So happy I did. I LOVE this speaker! Saving my money to pick up a second one! Cons: - It's a bit heavy to carry around. 37 lbs is not that heavy but I take this thing all over my house and yard so it gets heavy moving it up and down stairs a lot. Pros: - The sound quality is great. Solid bass. Oh ya it's loud. Crisp and full. - The battery feels like it lasts forever. Used it for a party (5+hours) then used it off and on for the next 2 weeks before I charged it again. - Lights are ok, if you're into lights. - Solid and stable like I don't see this thing getting knocked over. - Bluetooth connection is easy and feels strong. Have yet to have any connectivity issues. Highly recommend this speaker to anyone who wants to jam out in the yard, in the garage, by the pool, in the kitchen....

VOLUME NOT SO GREAT

I read the reviews, and it sounded like a great buy, but once I brought it home and tried it. It left me wanting for more volume. I caught myself continuously pressing the + buttom and thinking is this all it has to give? I read on some reviews that it has to be plugged in to get the best sound volume and i tried that but it didnt work. I gave it 3 stars because it does have good Bass and it looks and feels like a good quality speaker. I also tried the music app to adjust the volume but it was already as high as it would go. I figured i could probably get the same sound from a smaller more portable speaker. This speaker is also on the heavy side.

The volume will become low when the maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet. To ensure optimal listening experience, please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools like an equalizer to fine-tune your speaker and maximize the volume to your liking. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. Please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools like an equalizer to fine-tune your SRSXP500 and maximize the volume to your liking.
You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different audio compression and transmission types.
