Great for party’s or home sound

But its not loud enough for me and I noticed as you raise the volume at a certain point it seems like the volume gets lower. I saw a review comparing this speaker with the JBL Partybox 110 which clearly proves how much better the JBL is. At 70% volume on the JBL you would need to have the Sony at 100% to compare. I returned my Sony yesterday and picked up the JBL and I am much more happier.

We're so sorry if you find the speaker doesn't get very loud and you're not having the best experience with this speaker. By downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. To get the most out of the volume, we recommend to turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
If the sound becomes low while in use, we also recommend to follow the procedure from the link below.

I got this speaker to pair with it but unfortunately this speaker isn’t compatible with party chain. I do like that this speaker doesn’t need to be plugged in to use but it’s definitely not as loud as the XB72 model

Posted .Hi ColetteW, We are sorry to hear that the SRSXP500 did not meet all of your expectations. If the sound becomes low while it is in use, please try these steps. While the speaker is running on power from the rechargeable built-in battery, the sound may become low in the event that the rechargeable built-in battery is running out of power and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction.
If the sound becomes low while in use, follow the procedure below.
Turn off the speaker and charge the built-in battery sufficiently.
