We're sorry to hear that the volume level did not live up to your expectations. The maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet. To enjoy more dynamic sound (MEGA BASS effect). You can set the sound effect to MEGA BASS mode by taking either of the following procedures.
On “Sony | Music Center,” tap [SRS-XP500] - [Settings] - [Sound] - [Sound Effect] - [MEGA BASS].
Press the MEGA BASS button on the speaker.
Each time you press the button, the sound effect setting to MEGA BASS mode is switched on/off.
