Thank you for your time writing this review. While we are glad you like the XP700 speaker, we're sorry to hear that we were not able to meet your full expectations with the sound quality. For optimum performance, make sure that the software of the speaker is updated as it includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements. Sound quality may also vary depending on the source and content you are playing. To ensure optimal listening experience, install the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools like an equalizer to fine-tune your speaker and maximize the audio to your liking.

Also, the maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet and turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device.
