Before deciding to buy this Sony XP700 I had watched a bunch of reviews that compared it with the JBL Partybox 310 and 710 models. The majority of the reviews recommended the JBL models over the Sony XP700 so I went to Bestbuy with every intention of purchasing one of the JBL models recommended. When I arrived at Bestbuy I say demo models of both the JBL and Sony on display. My instincts told me to test out the demo models to hear how right the reviews were that I had watched online. Today, I am truly grateful to Best buy for having those demo units in the store because I got to try out bothe the JBL 310/710 and Sony XP700 and based on what I heard and felt I had no choice but to buy the Sony XP700. Yes the JBL models had a better light features but I was so impressed with the sound clarity and deep rich bass from the Sony XP700 that it was a "No trainer" for me to get the Sony XP700. It's been a month now sine I been enjoying all my genres of music on the amazing speaker from Sony and I have totally enjoyed it every day. My advice to anyone wanting to buy a good quality Bluetooth speaker: go over to Bestbuy and have them demo the ones you like but be sure to also listen to the Sony XP700.

I have used several of this brands portable blue tooth speakers in the past and every new versions is much, much better than its previous. The last model that I used, I recall saying to myself how I didnt think it could get much better... I was wrong. This model is bigger and louder than previous versions and with more app integration and input capabilities this is sure to take the cake. Sound - When i initially opened the box i was blown away at how big this "portable" blue tooth speaker is...the size is roughly the size of a standard dehumidifier. Its big. But, the sound that can pump out of this speaker is just as impressive. I connected my phone via blue tooth and sampled some songs and was beyond impressed by the deep thump of the base that was coming through the speaker, its almost as if the speaker is all sub, regardless i was very impressed. Other cool adds to this speaker is the ability to connect devices such as microphones etc. and with the companion app that controls the lighting effects this speaker could even provide enough entertainment to host a wedding or pool party. Design - As mentioned above, the build is large, but not annoyingly large. Its more of the size of a jukebox and the outer shell is sturdy and not made of the flimsy plastic. All in all, if you are looking for full size, top of the line speaker that can provide a lot of sound this is the speaker for you.

As others have said, this is not your normal Bluetooth speaker. While it is great for many of the normal uses and even traveling with it, its BIG. At over 23lbs and over 24 ½ inches tall, it is a force to be reckoned with. Powerful as most of the reviews say doesn’t do it justice. This is one of those great speakers that is perfect to put out on the patio or by the pool for that “full backyard” of sound! Sound quality is amazing. You can control it via the Sony Music Center App. This allows you to control the sound effects, including the Mega Bass, Live Sound or in the custom settings you can select the ClearAudio+ which automatically selects Mega Bass as part of the Sony recommended one setting option for best settings. Power options are also in the settings of the Music Center App. It clearly shows how many hours remain on the current charge, Options for extending battery life as well as a Battery Care Option which only allows up to 90% charge to extend the life of the battery. Lighting on this thing is crazy, they have 10 different options ( including a lights off) to allow you to customize the lighting mode. Really cool options! Also with the lighting and other options is the Sony Fiestable App. It has options like DJ Control, Illumination , Karaoke ( which is a cool option with the Mic). Motion control and a really cool option called Party Playlist which allows your guests on the same wifi to have access to a playlist that they can help add songs too if they have the Fiestable App also installed. I did not try the mic or guitar option yet, I am waiting for a friend that is going to visit soon who is going to help me try those options out. As I said at the beginning, this thing is perfect for the patio or deck of even a large home. You get full sound across the space. We even had it in our cul-de-sac for a neighbor party over the weekend. It was more than enough sound and could have done more! Everyone complemented on it. We also used the onboard USB Charging to charge two phones while we were out there! You can stand it up or even put it on its side, it is IPX4 certified so it will handle small splashes and spills so again, great for the pool or hot tub area. Just ensure you pay attention to the dimensions and weight, it’s not something your going to toss in a backpack and carry with you. It is made to be a party machine!

Sony XP700: The KING of all parties! I've been using the Sony XP700 Portable Bluetooth Party Speaker, and it's an absolute beast! The sound is powerful, crystal clear, and the bass is insane, especially with the Mega Bass feature. I use it for gatherings, BBQs, and even by the pool, thanks to its water resistance (IPX4). :) PROS: Massive, immersive sound with deep bass. LED lights that create a party atmosphere. Up to 25 hours of battery life wow. Stable Bluetooth connection, USB port, and AUX input. Can be used vertically or horizontally. Perfect for indoor and outdoor use. Instant pairing and amazing quality! No doubt, Sony nailed it with this speaker. I 100% recommend it—it’s the life of every party.

I saw this speaker while roaming through BestBuy and heard music coming from one of three speakers which where all the Sony XP series. the sound quality was very nice, but I was thinking what I would need it gigantic speaker for. Two Christmas parties this with my wife being the life of the party I knew that this would make the perfect gift for her. I search online looking for a good quality karaoke machine but then realized that "party speaker" was what I needed to search for. Review of the speaker. Like I said earlier the sound quality is amazing, I can connect via Bluetooth and there is even a Sony app that allows you to download your music library. I had to purchase microphones to use for karaoke. this machine is light and easy to move around unlike the xp900. This speaker is also very loud with nice base. the only downside would be that you can't put this on a pole tripod.

I downloaded the Sony music app and adjusted the Eq to my liking. This speaker sounds and looks incredible inside or out. Tried it on the patio and the sound and bass traveled well on a 50% volume. It does have a significant increase on volume while plugged in. But it is more than loud enough just running on it's internal battery. I also changed the settings so it optimizes sound quality over battery life. I even changed the settings and increased the bit rate on the Apple music app to get the best possible sound. I am very impressed so far. Used unplugged for 1 1/2 hours on 40 percent volume with lights and mega bass on and battery dropped from 100% to 73%. So I'm guessing this should run for 5-6 hours at a time at 40-50 % volume. Also, the Bluetooth signal traveled at least 20-30 feet from phone to speaker with no problems. Light feature is completely customizable with app.

Initially was looking for the JBL and with it sold out at the time, I opted to give this new SRSXP700 a shot. So happy I did. I LOVE this speaker! Saving my money to pick up a second one! Cons: - It's a bit heavy to carry around. 37 lbs is not that heavy but I take this thing all over my house and yard so it gets heavy moving it up and down stairs a lot. Pros: - The sound quality is great. Solid bass. Oh ya it's loud. Crisp and full. - The battery feels like it lasts forever. Used it for a party (5+hours) then used it off and on for the next 2 weeks before I charged it again. - Lights are ok, if you're into lights. - Solid and stable like I don't see this thing getting knocked over. - Bluetooth connection is easy and feels strong. Have yet to have any connectivity issues. Highly recommend this speaker to anyone who wants to jam out in the yard, in the garage, by the pool, in the kitchen....

Awesome portable speaker with powerful sound and deep bass. Gets very loud without distortion and works great for parties or outdoor use. Battery life is solid and Bluetooth connection is stable. Easy to carry and built well. Sony did a great job with this one.

I love this !! This is very easy to use and it will literally rattle your windows if you want it to or give you just a really great sound if that’s what you want also. It charges and the battery Life is great. Easy to pair with your Bluetooth. Very pleased.!!!

First, let me start by saying there are not enough stars for me to give this product!!! I'm not sure if it's just me or if anyone else out there looks at reviews of an item they wish to purchase before purchasing it. I always look at the reviews and try to do a thorough research on the internet and read the reviews on YouTube to compare the quality of the products to similar ones that I'm about to purchase. I went into a Best Buy store to listen to this portable Bluetooth speaker and I must tell you if I had the money right then and there that speaker would have found itself a new happy home!!! So on that same night, I did research on this product and made a comparison search on YouTube. The very next day I purchased the item online and the product was ready to be picked up within an hour or two after the online purchase of this product I fully charged it up and listened to it for the first time. I must say that I am impressed with the sound quality that comes out of this portable Bluetooth speaker!!! I truly believe I have gotten my money's worth and on top of that, the speaker was on sale for $100 less than the original price. The loudness of the speaker is not what impresses me, although it does get very loud in my opinion. I'm not into how loud a speaker can get, But the quality of the sound matters to me no matter how loud you turn up the speaker. No vibrations or distortions are coming from the speaker and then on top of all of that, it has the extra bass button which seals the deal for me!!! It truly was the icing on the cake. So far I have been listening to the speaker on battery life for almost 11 hours and it's still playing strong at 48%!!!! Needless to say, I would highly recommend this speaker to anyone who is really into sound quality and base performance!!!

We went back and forth on brands and models. We ultimately decided on this one and we couldnt be happier. Its got crisp sound and is loud. The bass boost feature is nice and we enjoy that its easily connected to bluetooth and the battery life is long!!! Highly recommend!

Been reading reviews on this speaker for awhile and finally decided to get one. Actually ended up buying two. The party pair feature works well most of the time to link both speakers together. The sony app is also easy to use and can split the sound bet left/right for true stereo. These are heavy. But ultimately the convenience of having the portability to move outdoors, awesome bass, and its long battery capacity outweighs the heft. I cant wait for my first outdoor summer bbq to out these to good use. My neighbors will be sure to notice lol

Wonderful sound! Bass is awesome with the boost, it’s a little louder plugged in but still works great with just battery powered. Also, you can hook up a microphone and it works well with that.

We bought two of these speakers for outdoor entertaining around our 3 acre farm. They have a wonderful sound. They are clear and no matter how loud we make them they are still clear. They have good base sound. I dont like it when you hear nothing but the base and these were not like that. We are very pleased with this purchase. They were very easy to pair with our phones and to pair together for a stero sound. I did have to load a simple app. The only negative is they were very pricey at a little over $900 for both.
