We're sorry you've been running into difficulty. The SRS-XP700 will work with most any Bluetooth device. The XP700 is designed to pair with devices that support A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) Bluetooth profile.

We regret to hear about what happened to your previous speaker. You made the right choice in upgrading to the Sony XP500. Your feedback about the volume is also appreciated. The overall volume may vary depending on the source content. The maximum sound volume for playing music also depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet. Make sure to also turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device.

While the speaker is running on power from the rechargeable built-in battery, the sound may become low in the event that the rechargeable built-in battery is running out of power and the CHARGE indicator flashes slowly. For optimum performance, charge the built-in battery sufficiently.

To get the most out of this speaker, you can use the sound quality setting and equalizer adjustment of the Sony Music Center app to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. Please refer to this link:

Thank you for the review and we do apologize for the inconvenience. The built-in battery life of the speaker depends on how you use it. You can get about 25 hours if the volume level of the speaker is set to 13, the sound effect is set to MEGA BASS. (factory default settings), and the lighting function is set to off.
