To ensure optimal listening experience, please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune your SRSXP700 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ. And for additional troubleshooting steps, please refer to this link: https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-xp500/v1/en/contents/TP1000243111.html And please note: The volume will become low when the maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet.

Please make sure to download the Sony Music Center App. This function can also be adjusted on the Sony Music Center app. Additionally, there is a built-in EQ that has 20 points of control for Bass, Midrange, and Treble to tailor-fit the sound quality to your needs. You can also check the app that you are using (for audio) or your source device for sound settings and adjustment. The XP700 is built for venue-filling sound. With Omnidirectional Party Sound provided by the X-Balanced Speaker Unit and the front and rear High-efficiency Tweeters, it sends out rich, clear sound in all directions.

This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet. Turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device. Check that the connected device is playing.
