For the bass sound, this usually depends on the source that you're playing and audio device that you are using. Some of these issues can be fixed by adjusting the equalizer function or the bass sound settings of the connected device.

The maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet. For optimum performance while using the built-in battery, charge the speaker sufficiently.
