So happy I did. I LOVE this speaker! Saving my money to pick up a second one! Cons: - It's a bit heavy to carry around. 37 lbs is not that heavy but I take this thing all over my house and yard so it gets heavy moving it up and down stairs a lot. Pros: - The sound quality is great. Solid bass. Oh ya it's loud. Crisp and full. - The battery feels like it lasts forever. Used it for a party (5+hours) then used it off and on for the next 2 weeks before I charged it again. - Lights are ok, if you're into lights. - Solid and stable like I don't see this thing getting knocked over. - Bluetooth connection is easy and feels strong. Have yet to have any connectivity issues. Highly recommend this speaker to anyone who wants to jam out in the yard, in the garage, by the pool, in the kitchen....

Does do stereo in both vertical and horizontal. Supports UpTo 2 microphones. It does do aux in as well. Do know though that aux as a source and using a mic does cause interference and for it to pick up radio station. Happened once and it was odd. On another note if the aux in is not the same device that is connected by Bluetooth, almost anything you do on the BT device will take over audio from the aux device. Set it to vibrate or silent to stop this. Back to good stuff, batter last pretty good. No discernable distortion even at high volume, at least songs I listen to anyway.

Solid Speaker for Large Gatherings

The speaker is plenty loud both in- and outdoors. The longevity of the battery is great and has not died during any extended uses relying on it. The bass hits well and pairs well with the other tones. The only thing to keep in mind is the majority of the speaker is plastic material so it scratches/scuffs pretty easily. If I really had a need, I would purchase an identical speaker to pair with the one I purchased.

Excellent Sony speaker!

We ultimately decided on this one and we couldnt be happier. Its got crisp sound and is loud. The bass boost feature is nice and we enjoy that its easily connected to bluetooth and the battery life is long!!! Highly recommend!

Deceiving Advertisement

Gave it 3 Stars because unable to Party Connect with Other Sony Speakers (XV900's) via Laptop. Can only be done with Mobile App. When you disconnect from the Mobile the Party Connect is no longer connected, and the PC version of Sony Music Center doesn't allow. This was confirmed with Sony Customer Service.

Perfect for the size, sound and value

My journey started by hearing a party speaker at a discount store. I said to myself, “Self, if this off brand garbage sounds this good, I wonder if anyone makes a quality one.” Well, it didn’t take long to figure out that JBL, Sony, Bose and a bunch other folks were in the game. I did enough research to be dangerous and selected this one based on size, performance, and price. And I could not be happier. It’s actually capable of being too loud for most situations and the bass is so punchy that I rarely even turn on the MegaBass. Very happy with this purchase and would buy the same one all over again if I had to.

Very large, but definitely worth it!

It is the size of a cooler, and with the top and bottom handles it carries like a cooler too. So, it's perfectly portable, but not easily carried very far at all. Otherwise, the sound is great. It's no Bose, but it's close; very big sounding. The lights are not very bright, so easily washed out by any other light source. I love the mic input and guitar input options; in fact, this has become my favorite guitar amp, over my actual guitar amps!

Awesome speaker

I decided to go with the sony brand for the party mode option I will be buying more speakers from them. I was unsure if i wanted the 500 or the 700. I was able to hear the 500 at the store and was impressed then there was a sale on the 700 so I got that. The 900 wasn’t water or dust resistant so I didn’t want that. I wasn’t really expecting it to be as big or as heavy as it is but that definitely helps put the sound out.

It is fairly easy to carry with it's practical handle/design. It's not very heavy, and the battery life on it is pretty good! It is my first time experience with purchasing a speaker of this size, and I'm already looking forward to adding another to the family! It is easy to use and a pleasure to use as well!

You can easily transport it (bring it with you wherever you go), it has a slot/stand for whichever mobile device you’re playing from to display at the top of the speaker, it’s already loud, but gets louder when it’s plugged in and stays clean sounding, there’s a party mode (with lights)!, you can use a mic or guitar; which I have yet to try…I used it for my annual Halloween party and it was perfect!
