To help you get that deep, punchy sound the XP700 is known for, we recommend trying these two steps:
1- The MEGA BASS Button: Ensure the MEGA BASS button on the top panel of the speaker is illuminated. This activates our specialized low-frequency enhancement specifically designed for this model.
2- Sony | Music Center App: We highly recommend downloading the Sony | Music Center app on your smartphone. Within the app, you can access Sound Settings and use the Custom Equalizer. By adjusting the low-frequency sliders, you can fine-tune the bass response to your exact preference and environment.

Yeah that last word ruined it. About as portable as a grand piano. However while I did like it and the sound. I was in way over my head. Returned product.

A Powerful Speaker

It’s more speaker power than I needed but since I’m not using it anywhere near max power it sounds great. It is rather heavy if you plan to move it round a lot. The Sony Music Center app works reasonably well and allows you to group with other Sony speakers that support “party mode” for simultaneous play (or stereo play which I haven’t used). I use it for workouts and the deep bass is highly motivating for me.

For parties, this thing is a must. Very powerful, very clear sound, and being able to toggle the extra bass is really nice. The lights match to music well enough and can also be turned off. The handlebars on it are also a lifesaver for how much I've had to haul this thing around the house. It's got a battery in it as well, but I've not tested it as it's been at the house the whole time. Really really love this speaker.

On weekends we are allowed to listen to music. This speaker can be heard 1/2 of the way across the plant with the machines running, or the whole plant with the machines off. This thing explodes music into the stratosphere I swear to god. If you get more than one they can sync up together and play the same music from one source!

Big Bass, Great Acoustics

I have now acquired the SRS and the sound quality is amazing and will annoy your neighbors! Definitely recommend. It’s great for the beach as well, just make sure you dust off the sand after!

Got two for double the fun

Actually ended up buying two. The party pair feature works well most of the time to link both speakers together. The sony app is also easy to use and can split the sound bet left/right for true stereo. These are heavy. But ultimately the convenience of having the portability to move outdoors, awesome bass, and its long battery capacity outweighs the heft. I cant wait for my first outdoor summer bbq to out these to good use. My neighbors will be sure to notice lol

The SRS-XP700 features a "Party Connect" function that allows you to connect up to 100 compatible speakers, so we are confident we can get yours working together.
To get started, here are a few steps that often resolve pairing issues:
Ensure Both Speakers Are Updated: Please make sure that both of your speakers have the latest firmware version. You can check for updates using the Sony | Music Center app.
Use the PARTY CONNECT Button: On each speaker, there is a PARTY CONNECT button. Press this button on both speakers to initiate the connection. The indicators on the speakers will flash as they search for each other.
Keep the Speakers Close: For the initial pairing, it is best to place the two speakers within 1 meter (about 3.2 feet) of each other.
Try the Sony | Music Center App: The app provides a guided process for pairing speakers using the "Party Connect" function, which can make the process simpler.

Great sound and bass.

It was like new and a very reasonable price. I use this speaker to out shine my neighbors when I’m barbecuing. Bass is good. Sound is crisp. It is heavy, I know it’s portable but it’s very heavy. It hasn’t left the house but I’m glad it could if need be. I want to buy another to sync together and really make the neighbors mad.
