And we regret to hear that the volume level of this speaker did not lived up to your expectations. The maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet. And by downloading the Sony Music Center app, you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune the speaker using the built-in EQ and maximize the volume to ensure optimal listening experience. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
