The unit will charge fast and run on battery power alone which is handy. You can turn on the lights or keep them off. It also has a lot of bass which you can turn off the bass boost too. I love it.

Awesome return policy from best buy where if you dont like the sound or if they dont pair well together with other ones you can try out a different one. Ended up taking this on a hike 5+ miles and wasnt that bad lugging it around as it is probably less than 50 lbs.

You don't have to download the Sony app to use it, just connect it to your phone or whatever you want with Bluetooth. You can tweak the EQ with the app if you'd like. Tons of sound, Sony quality is right where you want it to be for the money. I considered a bunch of the JBL ones before ultimately deciding on this. I don't regret it.

While it might not be as loud as you initially expected, the sound quality and endurance certainly seem to make it a hit. The maximum sound volume for playing music depends on whether the speaker is running on power from the connected AC outlet or from the rechargeable built-in battery. This, however, does not indicate a malfunction. To play music louder, connect the speaker to an AC outlet. Regarding the ports: The SRS-XV500 is equipped with inputs for maximum flexibility. You should find ports for both a microphone and a guitar/bass on the rear panel of the unit, typically labeled accordingly. This allows you to use the speaker for karaoke or even plug in an instrument directly.
If you’re having trouble locating them or getting them to work, please let us know, or you can check the user manual for a diagram of the rear panel connections!

Before purchasing I had the opportunity to inspect the item. Speaker was still in excellent condition like it was never used. It was a steal. $80 off for an open box. I’m pretty happy with the speaker. Good battery life and it sounds really good. Bass hits pretty hard.
