This party speaker is great! Sound is nice. Have individual fun. Small fun. And party fun. It will get the job done! This comes with the actual speaker (of course), a couple of paper documentations for some of the quick setup purposes (setup for some of the speaker's uses), a power/charging cord and an optical cable. There other things you can do with the party speaker for which you would need to have/purchase your own extras (i.e., audio cable, microphone). It's a very nice looking speaker. It's an extremely heavy speaker. Wheels - so the wheels are ok and also a bit of a nuisance. There are just two wheels, in the back. I was happy about the wheels, but they really only do anything if you are on a flat surface. If you are indoors and you pull it on carpet and expect it to roll. It doesn't. It more just drags and does what it wants. On a flat surface you are good. So if indoors, it will wheel fine on non carpet. And if you are outside, again, you are good to go on flat surfaces. I was honestly excited about the wheels, so that is a letdown. Handles - there is a small handle on the top back for wheeling. In the front you can use the handles on the top and bottom as needed. This thing is heavy so when I need to lift it to move it, I use the two front handle and hold it horizontal. Speakers - it has speakers on the front, subwoofer and two back-facing speakers on the top-back. It puts out great sound. Period. You can hear the words to your songs and you can hear the bass. All the aforementioned perform very well. Lights - it can emit colored lights on the top and bottom of the speaker (no lights in the middle). The lights can hit with the beats of your music. I love the lights. Functions (on the top) - the top of the unit allows you to switch functions and such. You have the Power button (for on/off of the speaker). The row above that is the play/pause button (it does just that). You can also use the play/pause button to skip forward to a next song(s) or go back to the beginning of current song or previous song(s). Next two buttons are the minus and plus, which are for volume. The last button on the 2nd row is for Mega Bass (self explanatory!!). Mega Bass should honestly be used at all times ;-). The third row of buttons are Bluetooth connection, then optical in connection (this is for connecting to a TV with an optical cable that comes with the unit), audio in (for connecting to a laptop or a different type of device that can play but using an audio cable that does not come with the unit), usb (for if you are using a usb flash drive to play your tunes. All the things I just mentioned on the 3rd row have to do with different functions. The last button on the 3rd row is the Light button for turning the light (that emits on the top and bottom) on and off. I should state that all the things mentioned on the top of this unit are not actual buttons, except the power button. They are there and you press it, but there is no button. Between the 3 rows of buttons and the back handle is a slot where you are supposed to be able to sit your mobile type device. I put my iPod (yes, I still rock an iPod) and or my galaxy phone in there. The back - there is a cover for the little area to access more things. The cover is connected so you can just flip it off and it hangs on. When you are done with the back, just put the hanging cover back on it. There is a battery checker, guitar connection, old school usb port, power cord port, optical cable port, audio cable port, can connect a mic. There is a lot going on back there. Now, you can connect via Bluetooth if you just want a quick connection to hear your music. But the Sony Music Center is highly suggested, as you can do more things in that app -- such as connecting via the various functions, connecting to your TV for using this as an extra speaker (be sure to put your TV's sound setting on PCM, as the documentation states this), connecting to the same speaker (if you have a second one), connecting to other compatible Sony speakers for party speaker mode, updating the software of this and other Sony speakers that are compatible, connecting to other Sony speakers individually, etc. I had a hard time getting the Party speakers mode to work, meaning the ability to connect to multiple compatible Sony Speakers to increase sound output in the environment in which you are listening/partying. I had to go through it a few time until it finally connected. But, I noticed that this SV800 dominated the sound and the other speaker (which is just like this one) barely played the sound. I had to put my ear up close to ensure sound was actually coming out. I will continue to play with it, but I love the idea. I was able to connect to a TV (it was a Hisense TV) with the optical cable and it actually worked but I will continue to play around with that function. I went into the Sony Music Center to change the function and pushed play on a YT video. Ummm... I wasn't ready for the overload of boom! That was actually crazy, as the sound was not balanced. Again though, cool feature/function. There are various reasons to get this speaker. You love music and want some good sound to fill your space when listening. It gives good bass too (depending on the source of the bass in the music... nothing you can control per se). You want to party. You just want to have a good time. I love music (and love bass) and I definitely recommend this party speaker. I truly love it. Get up on it. Peace.
