The Sony XV900 X-series might not have the cleanest name around, but don’t shy away as this is the new Big Dog for portable speakers. Upon first glance, you are shocked at the absolute size and mass. Coming in at 58lbs and almost 3 foot tall, Sony didn’t let size be a negating factor in the best portable party speaker, or literally any other factor, including price.. So lets start cutting into it! Build Quality - Sony really nailed it with this, the front I/O is extremely sleek and really gives off a very high end feeling (after all this is a $900 speaker). Everything is very responsive, well lit and well put together. This speaker might be quite large, but quickly blends in to its surroundings as it is so sleek. The wheels included are well built and help move this speaker to its resting destination along with the two sturdy handles on the front and back for the party, big game or karaoke night. I really can’t say more about the build quality, it is truly a quality build and reflective of its price. Battery - I was pleasantly surprised to get over 20hrs (rated for 25) on my speaker! It charged to half full in under two hours and full in about three. The battery on this speaker also allows you to charge your phone or USB device while it is playing which is always a nice addition as most people will be bluetoothing music to the speaker. RGB/lighting - This is where I was actually pleasantly surprised, when you compare this to other portable speakers, they just shotgun RGB lighting at you in a very IN YOUR FACE method. Sony took a more pleasant approach where it looks more elegant yet still bright and bold enough for a party. You can change it to a solid color, changing solid color or full spectrum color lighting. The best part is, if you don’t want any lighting from the speaker and want to tuck it away, you can turn it off and tuck the sleek speaker out of sight for hidden sound. App - The Sony app initially appears as useless, however, upon further dissection of it you can actually do more than expected. You can sync another speaker with this one, change the Lighting modes and see the battery percentage, you can change the EQ on the speaker slightly - Bass, Middle and Treble +-10 and alter the sound with DJ effects and some other small quirks that make this app useful if that is something you want to mess with. The app is clean, but, could be easier to get where you want. Inputs - This speaker can do just about everything! It has Bluetooth 5.2 (very nice to have the latest and greatest Bluetooth, USB, Aux, optical (for TV boosting) and two adjustable aux inputs for outside instruments/microphone. Sound - Lets just cut to the chase here, it sounds amazing. I have several other speakers that I love for parties, including a pair of JBL Boomboxes that I link together to give a full sound in my house or outside. This single speaker sounds so good, and fills the air so well that I will not even consider another speaker, as this one has completely blown my mind and reset my expectations for what a portable speaker can sound like. My Gripes - I have two main gripes here, and they are not in any way shape or form a deal breaker or a rating downgrade but something I would like to see changed in the future. The wheels could be larger, and yes I understand that it has a form factor to fit and to be a certain size for packaging and maneuverability, but wheels that are double the size or even 1.5x bigger would really go a long way in helping this speaker move around smoother on surfaces that aren’t perfectly flat. My second gripe is that this speaker has no water resistance whatsoever, and would like to at least see some form of splash resistance. I have gotten the speaker wet a couple times but I have also always been quick to clean it up as well. The minor details I love - While this might sound minute, the power cord not having an external brick is so nice as you can easily tuck this speaker away without a large brick laying around on the floor, and it uses a universal AC power cord should you need a new or longer one. One thing I would also like to point out is the speakers ability to boost a TV’s sound which is AMAZING for football nights as it really gives you that basey in the game feel on game night. This is truly my final stop for portable speakers as it stands today, and this is the new king on the market. Yes this speaker is expensive, yes it is big and yes it is bold - and it is worth every penny. This isn’t your hotel speaker or small and light bathroom speaker. This is what you pull out when you need the best sound for a group of people or in a larger area, as the XV900 certainly checked all the boxes for me. Why not take the jump and check it out? Great sounds i was amazed on how the quality of the sony speaker the bass is crazy i also love that you can pair it with your smart tv and listen to the movies..

Good sound quality but just had issues pairing it with xp700 it gives an echo

After searching for a big speaker and deciding between jbl and sony i would say both are definitely great speakers to buy.
