Simply one of the best vlogging cameras in this price range. The various inputs allow for external audio sources so you can get really clean sound. Excellent stabilization and other features. As with most Sony products, keep an extra battery charged and close by. The display can eat the battery life. Oh, and it certainly does take nice still shots!

Easy to use camera, takes great quality pictures and videos.

I recently decided to start a YouTube channel and once I switched to this camera my video quality increased tremendously. I battery dies fast so I would definitely recommend buying at least another battery. I also heard that if you wear sunglasses and try to use the flip screen then it will go black. Other than those two things, I think this is a great camera for those starting out. :) I mostly use mine for vlogging!

brilliant colorful video quality. Def need a backup battery rig. Dropped mine into the lou accidentally while recording a morning routine. It wouldn't turn on at first, but after couple days it was 100 functional. Love it

Video purposes it shoots beautifully, but for photography the quality isn’t as great. Still a good camera though.

I like this camera. However, it couldn't meet my needs with the length of run time and environments I was in. This would be an excellent camera for someone using it for standard vlogging or vacationing with the family.

Got this camera due to they myriad of online meetings I'm in now that I'm working from home all of the time. The camera has many of the same features as my a6600 so it was easy to get started with. Record quality is top notch and setup was simple. Tons of youtube videos out there for anyone interested. This camera is a drastic improvement over my laptop and usb cameras. Extremely happy with the purchase!

I normally use Panasonic cameras for video, but this little Sony has some very useful features that make quick content creation so much easier. The autofocus alone is a game changer compared to what I’m used to and the simplicity makes me want to just keep it with me all the time. It really is small enough to fit in your pocket and the onboard audio is more than adequate if you don’t need pristine sound.

Excellent camera! Very easy to use. It does go through rechargeable batteries but you can get an adapter that keeps it plugged in all the time. Lots of accessories.

For a point and shoot.. for a video camera.. ZV-1 is a beast! Unfortunately my family wanted quality photos (far better than our phones) that rivaled/surpassed our classic Nikon D90 + glass. This will not get you there. The video features are superb and look awesome in that Insta/YT way, while the photos are great for quick point and shoot in great lighting conditions. The thing suffers in low light across the board and that means it won't work in OUR situation for natural lighting in our home, friends' homes, and evening events (music events, outings to pubs, cafes, etc, and darker-than-usual lighting while hiking in the PNW winters/springs). I can't knock it because we tried it and didn't like the results for our needs: This camera IS a great camera and does what it should. It also has no business being THIS GOOD with video. If you're looking for a VIDEO camera with the ability to do some product photos or quick snaps out with friends during the day the ZV-1 could do you very well. You don't have to mess around with lenses and the 1.8 is fast. If you're looking for superb photo quality on top of that amazing video quality it will likely disappoint. I had the luxury of a large budget and went all the way to a Sony a7c (no kit lens) and 2 lenses... and that has ticked 100% of our needs.

The Sony ZV-1 is an amazing camera for photos and vlogging for beginner content creation. Great quality overall, only con is the battery is pretty weak. I suggest you buy 2-3 more batteries.

Build/Packaging The camera feels sturdy and solid. The packaging is good, but lacks any “normal” accessories such as a camera strap. Photo The camera takes crisp photos and has plenty of manual and automatic settings to get the best photo possible. Video The 4K videos look amazing. Very high quality videos can be captured. Audio Using the built in audio (and wind adapter) the audio is very good. I used a wired and wireless mic to plug into the 3.5mm connection and actually found it to make the audio worse. It sounded muffled. Technology The camera has an app to gain access to control the camera remotely, offload pictures and videos, and other control. Personal experience All of the above are great reviews, but I encountered a significant issue. While inside (in air conditioning) and using the remote video control, the camera said it was overheating after a 90 second video. The camera shut off. It wouldn’t power back up. It may have just been a defective unit, but I wanted to pass along my experience.

Where do I begin? I am inlove with this vlog camera quality! I love the modes on it. I love that I can connect it to my phone and laptop using an app. A really good camera to start with if you are new to photography and videography!

Got this for my daughter and it is perfect. She is a Senior in High School, and she takes it on all her trips. Easy to download photos onto phone if needed or wanted too.
