The lens is good and the settings have great options but the battery life is not so great. An hour or so of trying to record, my first time it kept shutting off saying low battery. I have not been in that situation again so I have not experienced the low battery mode again. I am iffy about recommending this but I looked into reviews and they suggested buying more batteries for backup.

Great camera. Great picture and video quality. Easy to use. Takes very little to learn the menu, but it is not complicated at all. It is easy to operate. 4k video is really good. Active stabilizer works very well. Lens can be a little wider, but it works well.

Awesome quality, and very simple ease of use. I have used it for video recording events, and a handful of pictures. The Auto settings are great for beginners, and many adjustable options for intermediate shooters. The flip around screen is a very nice feature. Mic attachment/cover is a bit cheap, but expected from Sony. Otherwise, sound and video quality are sharp!

This camera does it all. Crisp 4K quality videos and good photos as well all in a compact frame that fits in your pocket. As you've probably already read, the main downsides are that the lens isn't as wide as other cameras and the battery life isn't ideal. I think these are easy trade offs for everything else you're getting at a great price point.

I'm keeping this for ease of use and video quality, but the audio quality is pretty bad, we have to edit a lot in post, and this camera shuts down after 15 minutes of filming if I'm recording for a while. I had no issues for the first day of filming, then the second day, it shut down every 10 minutes. Took me 40 minutes to film a 20 minute episode. And the battery life isn't great either. Again, Keeping this purely because I don't want to spend more than $600 for high quality YouTube videos.

Honestly! Great camera for beginners! I love that you can close the screen to protect it and love the image/video quality! It’s really missing a flash but that would be the only gripe that I have! Would highly recommend!

Overall a great starter camera for vlogging and streaming. Easy to use. Connects to OBS seamlessly. I currently use it for streaming church services. Only down side is there is no built in flash.

If you are streaming, making talking head YouTube videos or shooting techy B-roll this is a great camera! I have used this camera for all of the above since I got it. I have not, however, carried it around for any vlogging. Some folks say 24mm isn't wide enough, and for vloggers with stabilization and 4k on, the frame could be head dominated without a Gorillapod or selfie stick, but I don't use it that way. I really enjoy having the "defocus" background button and item "show off" button (can't remember what it's really called). For someone who doesn't want to get into photography, but wanted something better than a webcam this is perfect. I tried a Sony a6400, and that's more camera, but required more "cameraing" effort than I wanted to learn about. The ZV-1 is so simple to use!! I Aperture Priority (?) mode and control the shutter speed and aperture and let the camera do the rest. All I do is maybe a small color grade in post and let camera do the rest. Love it!!

Amazing camera for photos and video. Truly made for the video creator or people who like to get quality images/video. Easy to use camera, plus thousands of youtube videos to help set up!

It's not a bad camera, just not a great camera. In fact in comparison my iPhone 13 took better photos and had a better zoom. Biggest help I can give is look at the 14 day return policy. I thought I had 30 days to try it out but found out that isn't the case. So it will be a back up, but an expensive one at that. If you don't have a great camera on your phone the size of this camera is good for travel or to fit in a small bag for day time adventures.

This camera is everything I wanted and more! I now know why it’s every content creators top pick, amazing quality and ease of use. It was sold out everywhere, but Best Buy had one come in, and lucky for me. I am so happy with my new camera! Trust me, you need this camera! Buy it!

I use this camera for streaming and taking pics of the family, I have use for my son grad pics and it came out great. I do wish the battery life was a little longer but it works for what I need it for

The camera takes a bit of digging to find how to use all of the settings. The options provided are excellent for getting the exact framing and depth of field desired. The auto focus works well for both video and photo mode and the manual focus allows for getting various levels of blur for the background while keeping the subject in perfect focus. The fold out display allows for verifying what is being captured while in front of the camera and is quite useful for solo recording. The builtin microphone is surprisingly good and the included wind ruff works very well in mildly windy situations. There is also a microphone jack for using an external mic. I paired this with a Rode shotgun microphone for a more directional audio capture. The camera is capable of charging the battery while plugged in, however this charging method is significantly slower than using an external charger. The main benefit of being able to plug the camera in is for extended recording times without worrying about battery changes.

Camera itself is great and my daughters love it. Very bothered by Best Buy. I bought this “excellent condition open box” camera that wouldn’t even turn on. (Did they not check that?!?!) and unfortunately it was a far location so when I had to go to another location to address the issue, all they could do is charge me more and exchange it for a new one. Crap system Best Buy. Great camera Sony

Great video camera. The quick focusing works amazingly. Wish it had a longer lasting battery life and a AC adapter that could be plugged into to do longer recording. I solved these two problems by purchasing additional batteries and a dummy battery charger that plugs into my computer. I would definitely recommend this camera.

I bought this camera because I recently wanted to to start documenting my diy projects while also filming my quickly growing toddler. It’s been so easy to use and fun figuring out all it has to offer. My videos have been 100 x better then that I use to take from my phone alone. I am very happy with it so far and can’t wait to keep it up!

Takes great photos for a beginner content creator photographer like myself. Wish it had a flash feature but overall has been great, very lightweight and fits in my purse.
