Didn't have longer zoom

My SX 740 wasn't working so I picked up this Sony because BB store sales said it had a 50x zoom--it has a **24 x 70mm***. All other features were what I was looking for: fully articulating screen, 1" sensor, ISO to 12800 and I like Sony picture quality. Recommend if this is what you're looking for--don't trust BB site or confirm what sales people say.

It is a great camera to vlog with but has its drawbacks. The a7iii is large and quickly draws attention. If you are looking for an excellent vlogging camera that is bit more discrete than this camera might work for you. The biggest drawbacks are the 5min. recording maximum and the 24mm wide angle. If you extend your arm the 24mm is definitely manageable but the 5 minute recording time is something that you really have to be pay attention to. It will shot off before you realize it has happened. Best spur of the moment vlogging camera! Best auto

I make films for a living and love this as a side vlogging spur of the moment camera! A few quirks though. The 1.8 though, while bright has the depth of field more like an f5. But if you are ok with that, awesome! If you're shooting in ia for video, be warned that the auto shutter kind of goes wonky and plays back clips too fast if you move the camera around too fast. But once you know the quirks, it's amazing! Most convenient camera ever! Purchased for in the moment vlogging shots so I love it! If you vlog though, use a selfie stick rather than the optional accessory... It's worth it and will greatly open up your shots.
