Very disappointed, overheats, shuts off…

Every time I’ve tried to use it for more than a few minutes, it overheats and shuts off. This is especially bad when filming in 4K. If you’re shooting more than 5 minutes of 4K video, use another camera. I even changed the heat shutoff setting as many people suggest and I still can’t even get 10 minutes of footage out of this thing. Very disappointed with this purchase. I’ve spent several hundreds more dollars on a dummy battery because the battery is a huge heat source, and a cooling case and a capture card and micro hdmi cable so I can hook this up to my pc and record there instead of recording to an sd card, because the sd card is another heat source. This solves the overheating problem but now I’m handcuffed to my pc. So much for vlogging.

High-quality movie recording and high-speed continuous shooting require large amounts of power. Therefore, if you continue to shoot, the temperature inside the camera will rise, especially that of the image sensor. In such cases, the camera will turn off automatically because the surface of the camera is heated to a high temperature or the high temperature affects the quality of the images or the internal mechanism of the camera. We greatly appreciate your honest feedback.

aspiring vlogger

Only used a few times, still need to learn how to use it and get better at vlogging (in selfie mode)

review of zv-1 camera

My only concern was it overheated too quickly. I was outside early in the am and it was only about 70 degree and I was in the shade and then it said it overheated after 15 min of use. I walked in the house and then turned it on and it worked all within 1 min. So I am not sure why being outside even in the coolest temps makes this camera say its overheating. overall I really like the camera but just this little glitch is a pain but you can just push record again and it starts (at least in my conditions in shade at 70 degrees or lower)

I got it to film a client. The audio was decent too even without a mic. But it does have a spot for a mic to be connected. Overall, I would say it's a excellent starter video camera.
