Still More Versatile Than ZV-1F or ZV-1 Mk II

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm just writing this review to point out something that makes this camera much more versatile than the newer ZV-1F or the ZV-1 II that "replaces" the ZV-1. The ZV-1 has optical image stabilization in the lens, the other two do not. Many people have pointed out the slight difference this makes in video, vs. the digital only on the newer cameras. But this misses one important thing. If you are going to use this camera as a compact travel camera or any other use case that will involve taking pictures, digital stabilization does nothing for photos. This means the ZV-1F/1 II have no image stabilization in photos. The ZV-1 has optical image stabilization when taking pictures. This is beneficial at longer focal lengths and especially in lower light. If you are looking for a travel camera or general use camera, the optical stabilization in the lens of the ZV-1 gives it an advantage over the others.

Wow, gamechanger!

This camera has enhanced my photos and video to a very professional level. I'm actually buying two more to have my staff use when we cover events. It is really that good!

It works best for video and vlogging. Pics are good. Most of what this does could be done on a newer phone. You need to have a better microphone for pick-up. Overall, it's good but not great.

Invaluable Experience for Beginner Camera

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had bought this camera with the sole intention of learning how cameras work, the different formats that they shoot in (HLG3, S-LOG 2/3 being the main ones) There is a lot about cameras to learn. For those aspiring videographers and/or entry level photographers. This gives you the novice experience that you need to continue your aspirations without breaking the bank. Biggest Part about learning the camera will be the Aperture, ISO, and Shutter Speed Values you need. There are ways to getting lenses to fit on this device as well. And what's cool is a lot of the lenses you can get will fit some of the future cameras You might get as well.

I'm not a pro with camera but that happen whited I thought that something was wrong with my camera but there was nothing wrong with it. all I did was reset it and was working perfectly. other then that I love this camera.

Sony ZV-1 bought in May 2023

Great photos and videos for close up or within 10 yards. A newer Samsung or iPhone has a better quality from further away. Good photos with limited light and are better than most phones. I think it's a great camera for $500, NOT $750 as listed!
