This is my first camera so I don't really know what realistic expectations should be. It's pretty easy to use, makes great 4k videos and has good sound when pair with an external mic. You'll have to tweak the settings if you want to record for longer than 5 minutes at 4k and the battery life isn't terribly great. I don't wish it had a USB-C connection instead of micro-USB. Overall a good camera and works fine for my Youtube channel.

I decided to invest in this point and shoot camera and so far I'm not regretting it. It's much smaller than I expected, which was surprising in a good way. I like that I can turn on continuous record. This is definitely a camera made with vloggers in mind. There's some small things that could have been done better, but given the size and form factor, compromises may have had to have been made. I like the sound quality of this camera so far. Given it's been a number of years since I've purchased Sony products, I will comment that I was a bit surprised by the presentation. This camera came in a rather small box that was taped shut with anything. It just had a box insert you pulled out to lift the top and everything was inside. There really wasn't much presentation. It was fairly simplistic. lol, not trying to criticize, but just saying when I open Apple or Samsung products, I feel like there's anticipation...like I'm being taken on a journey. For the money I paid for this camera, I was expecting a little more upon the "opening" process and it was underwhelming. That's about the one thing I was a bit taken aback by. Oh, the battery life on this is about 1 hr. I'd say grab some more batteries and perhaps an external charger while you're at it. Overall, I'm still really happy with the purchase. I also got the handheld accessory and will write a review of that later. The presentation on that one was also meh. I'm starting to wonder perhaps is that a minimalist thing Sony has going on? If it is, then bravo, because it definitely came across that way. All in all, quality products though!

Before i bought tge zv-1 i had no experience with a camera except for the camera on my phone. I was a bit hesitant to get it because i wasn't sure if it was going to be easy to use, but it was. The has 4k capabilities which is amazing especially for the price. The camera is super easy to use but it doesn't mean you wont get confused by it if you've never handled a camera and don't know the terminology. If you are interested in the camera i would definitely recommend it, but please do your research on it.

Excellent ! Bought it for a trip to Europe and turned out to be quite amazing. Everything from clarity color ease of use stills and 4k videos was just great. Very light and compact with it’s very own Sony OS. More zoom would have been welcome.

it was good camera but a little bit expensive for me i wish i could kept it.

Overall- its a good camera. I think if you can have patience and learn the modes then this will go great for you. However for me, there are too many modes and the reason why I returned was because there was no flash which was a HUGE deal for me as I was wanted it for taking it out at (which sometimes is at night time). Therefore, overall, this camera was not the camera for me. If you did want a flash you had to purchase the attachment (so more money) and it is a large flash so this wasn't compact how I would like. Still will say it's a good camera as I know it has the capabilities but just not the camera for me !

Easy camera to use and very light weight. The settings are not hard to understand, also video quality is good.

My wife wanted a point and shoot to bring with us on vacations, and this is perfect. Sony cams are the best in low light no doubt. It’s super lightweight, easy to use, and produces a shockingly clean image!

Its portable and takes photos better than an iPhone 14 pro but the battery drains quickly especially in the Florida Sun.

I bought this camera for my daughters so they could use it for what it's made for. They love it and are having a blast. The flip out screen is fantastic and I wish my a6500 had it... Maybe someday Sony. Video quality is awesome too. Lightweight and small and a breeze to use. Lens does not zoom out far enough for vlogging in my opinion but it works.

This is a great compact 4K camera, however there are some serious learning curves with this one. The battery that comes with the camera is NOT enough! If you record in 4K the battery will only last about 20 minutes before “Battery Exhausted” and that’s if you can record a solid 20 minutes without it stopping. There is a safety feature on the camera to prevent it from overheating that maxes out 4K videos to 5 minutes, you can update your preference in the settings. If you are recording a video and it is too dark, don’t record in movie but instead record in Intelligent Mode.

Camera is quite good ,but I give 4 stars because : -it is no Flash ,which is very important - rotating screen is not comfortable to use for selfies - u can find much better cameras for such price

My daughter used her graduation money to purchase this camera & loves it! Takes great pics of people & landscapes! Easy to use and nice to have the selfie option.

The video quality of this camera is amazing! The camera itself is very compact and so nice. The only problem I have with my camera is using external mics with it. I’ve tried three different microphones and there is no sound coming from them when they are connected. I’ve even tried new cables and even tried using the usb slot instead of the jack to connect the microphones but that didn’t work either. I’ve heard of other people on YouTube who also have this issue and can’t use external microphones as well as faulty internal microphone issues. Like when plugging an external mic then unplugging, the cameras internal mic wouldn’t work unless turning the camera off and then back on. I didn’t realize I ran out of time to return/exchange as I was trying to figure out where the audio problem was coming from so I can no longer return it. I use my camera for ASMR videos on YouTube and I need good external mics for this. TIP (if this audio thing isn’t an issue for you): I now have to record my audio separately on my phone and sync the audio and video when editing. Extra work but it’s the only way it seems like. So beware when purchasing this camera!

Love my zv-1!! Great quality camera for pictures and videos. Small and compact. It can fit in your pocket. Battery life is a downside but you can buy extra batteries. Great starter camera if your thinking about streaming or creating content for YouTube. Fair price.

This camera is better than I expected!! If you're thinking about buying this camera I'd say just go ahead and get it, it will not disappoint. the quality is impeccable, it blew me away and it's so easy to use too. Great, great, great!

Love this camera! Great quality, easy to use only thing it needs is a built in flash.
