No Flash?

I mean I have to drop another 100+ to get flash? Does no one use this at night? I’m probably going to return this because I need something that can go day to night without too many accessories.

I work in media sk this camera shuts off randomly. It’s not the battery. Spent more money on Sony batteries fully charged still does the same thing. Tried reaching Best Buy IT & Sony for help. It’s embossing to be doing interviews and it shuts on randomly

Camera purchase review.

However, to crop the pictures, it needed a computer connection. Since we don't have a computer at home, we returned it to the Mansfield, Ohio store. I was waiting to send in a review until I saw that it was in fact credited to my credit card.

The focus is great, but unless you use it on a tripod and or gimble all of the time, it’s jittery and the video stabilization is horrible. For the same price, I traded it in and got the A6100 and it focuses faster and is way more stable and the battery life is better. I tried to use the ZV-1 as a webcam and even though I had is set to charge with USB it would die. My A6100, while it doesn’t stay charged can go 12 hours while plugged in and connected to the Sony Image edge software and being used for streaming as a webcam. I wouldn’t recommend this for anything that’s not just on a tripod. Unless you want to invites a few hundred dollars more, stay away from this camera. Not recommended.

One thing to note regarding the stabilization settings, there are actually two different options in Movie Mode (Active or Standard) that are available to try to see if it helps with the jittery footage. Also, we recommend the Sony Vlogger Accessory Kit to be use with the ZV-1.

We are sorry to hear that you were not able to use the USB to extend your recording time. To extend the recording time, we recommend that you turn on Auto Power OFF Temp. set to “High”
Overheat disable feature not working.

It also allows the user to disable this feature. The disable 'overheat' feature did not function on this camera; kept shutting down during a very important interview.

This is a security feature programmed in the camera to prevent internal damage because of overheating. The feature is activated when the internal temperature reaches a certain level. There are suggestions to help you use the camera longer before it shuts down automatically. One is setting the Auto Power OFF Temp. function to High, using a fast memory card, and using a tripod while recording or streaming. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

Overheating in 4k

It's very portable, light weight and takes great 4k footage. Unfortunately it overheats when streaming in 4k. Most of the time I can get 25 minutes or so, but recently its been as little as 20 minutes. I've changed the Hi temp shutoff without any changes.

Overheating Issues

It did take amazing photos but I needed it for a vlog and it couldn’t cut it. I experimented with different settings but couldn’t get it to stay on and not overheat.

Sony ZV-1 Overheats

You can help by setting the AutoOff Temp setting to high but it will still shutdown at some point

Therefore, if you continue to shoot, the temperature inside the camera will rise, especially that of the image sensor. In such cases, the camera will turn off automatically because the surface of the camera is heated to a high temperature or the high temperature affects the quality of the images or the internal mechanism of the camera.
