perfect size, good picture quality, easy to use, simple instructions

I'm just writing this review to point out something that makes this camera much more versatile than the newer ZV-1F or the ZV-1 II that "replaces" the ZV-1. The ZV-1 has optical image stabilization in the lens, the other two do not. Many people have pointed out the slight difference this makes in video, vs. the digital only on the newer cameras. But this misses one important thing. If you are going to use this camera as a compact travel camera or any other use case that will involve taking pictures, digital stabilization does nothing for photos. This means the ZV-1F/1 II have no image stabilization in photos. The ZV-1 has optical image stabilization when taking pictures. This is beneficial at longer focal lengths and especially in lower light. If you are looking for a travel camera or general use camera, the optical stabilization in the lens of the ZV-1 gives it an advantage over the others.

Got this camera for my daughter and she loves it she been using it everywhere we go now.

I love my camera. I use it for my podcast and I’m about to get another it’s so good. The sound the angles and then picture are the best. Anyone looking for podcast videos, content creation - this is your find!

I honest thought this camera was going to be the perfect camera for me. The issues i have with this camera is the battery life and overheating. The battery doesnt hold a charge, I can’t film a youtube video without me having to charge it in between which takes forever. It also tends to get hot after filming which is concerning.I wanted to like this camera after hearing so many great reviews on it. I thought this camera would replace the quality on my iphone 14 but the iphone camera beats this camera 100% … Also Ive been having issues with audio and grainy quality, so don't fall for the hype.

The Sony ZV-1 is a full featured, powerful point and shoot camera that fits in your pocket. I think its major target user is the Content Creator. But anyone can use it. Its strong points are: Size - it fits in your pocket. Lens: it has a F1.8-2.8 ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens. The same lens in a APS-C or Full Frame lens could you about $1000. Picture Quality - it shoots 4K. It sports a 1 inch sensor, which is more than adequate for YouTube. Microphone - it has an excellent onboard microphone with Wind Sock (Dead Cat). Screen: it has a articulated side flip out screen as opposed to vertical flip. And most of all, my favorite feature of the camera is the Continuous Focus Real-time Eye Autofocus and Real-time Autofocus tracking. Coupled with the Product Showcase Setting, it transitions focus from face to object instantly. It's amazing. It's fast. I love it. My only complaint about the camera is a weak and inadequate battery. So buy some extra batteries. Other than that, I strongly recommend this camera. BTW, Sony is releasing the ZV-E10 soon. An APS-C version of this camera. But don't be fooled. You'll be a committed to the expensive Sony ecosystem of lenses. Remember what I mentioned earlier about lenses? The Sony lens hierarchy goes like this, you go from the cheap Basic Sony Kit lens, to Sony G lens, to the Sony G Master lens and finally Sony Zeiss lenses ($ $$ $$$ $$$$). With the Sony ZV-1 you get the BEST Sony lens (and features) in your pocket. That's all you need.

One of the best 1 inch sensor camera with blazing fast auto focus. Low light performance not as good after all it's a 1 inch sensor and what more we could expect. IQ is superb. Owned rx100v before and the image quality is as good. Miss evf but considering the price it's not a deal breaker

I decided to invest in this point and shoot camera and so far I'm not regretting it. It's much smaller than I expected, which was surprising in a good way. I like that I can turn on continuous record. This is definitely a camera made with vloggers in mind. There's some small things that could have been done better, but given the size and form factor, compromises may have had to have been made. I like the sound quality of this camera so far. Given it's been a number of years since I've purchased Sony products, I will comment that I was a bit surprised by the presentation. This camera came in a rather small box that was taped shut with anything. It just had a box insert you pulled out to lift the top and everything was inside. There really wasn't much presentation. It was fairly simplistic. lol, not trying to criticize, but just saying when I open Apple or Samsung products, I feel like there's anticipation...like I'm being taken on a journey. For the money I paid for this camera, I was expecting a little more upon the "opening" process and it was underwhelming. That's about the one thing I was a bit taken aback by. Oh, the battery life on this is about 1 hr. I'd say grab some more batteries and perhaps an external charger while you're at it. Overall, I'm still really happy with the purchase. I also got the handheld accessory and will write a review of that later. The presentation on that one was also meh. I'm starting to wonder perhaps is that a minimalist thing Sony has going on? If it is, then bravo, because it definitely came across that way. All in all, quality products though!

Yes it's a tad bit tight on the lens and the battery life is a little weak. This wouldn't be such a bad thing if it were for the fact that a tripod will always block the battery door. 4k is useless with battery life being so weak and the EXTRA crop on an already tight frame. I never thought I'd think this but a shoulder strap sure would have been nice for this. Slow motion is kinda useless. I'd just use your phone's slow mo feature. ZV-1 slow mo kills battery and isn't quick enough to be ready for capturing shots spontaneously. The picture tends to overexpose in auto settings and since this is meant for quick run and gun style shooting, that sort of takes away the point of having a pocket shooter like this. The stability is great but the crop is tight. There are third party wide lens attachments that supposedly help but could put stress on the lens motor. There is zooming noise that makes it into the video. I put the negatives up front to focus on the positives now: Great low light. Product showcase mode is phenomenal. Much more useful than I anticipated. The audio is really good and the hot shoe on the top has allowed for me to use a sony shot gun mic. The way to use this camera for run and gun is to use it as a b cam to your phone. Use your phone for daylight and as soon as you go indoor or it get's late, switch the other Sony ZV-1.

Great camera in a compact profile. Easy to use. Used for both battery powered recording and USB streaming. I do recommend some sort of additional mount plate to make the SD card slot and battery port accessible while on a tripod. The camera's only downside is the overheating. In high temps, the camera will auto shutdown as it does get pretty warm on Battery power. On the other hand with a dummy battery it has worked great for 5+ hours for streaming.

I love this camera it’s way better than canon g7 , if you compare them you’ll see this one ha much more to offer.

Bought it to take pictures in Hawaii all the photos and videos came out perfect. You do have to play with the settings, but pictures look amazing!

Camera itself is great and my daughters love it. Very bothered by Best Buy. I bought this “excellent condition open box” camera that wouldn’t even turn on. (Did they not check that?!?!) and unfortunately it was a far location so when I had to go to another location to address the issue, all they could do is charge me more and exchange it for a new one. Crap system Best Buy. Great camera Sony

This tiny camera is perfect for travel! I don’t vlog, but I love that I can easily pack it in my bag. The quality is clear and easy to use.

For a point and shoot.. for a video camera.. ZV-1 is a beast! Unfortunately my family wanted quality photos (far better than our phones) that rivaled/surpassed our classic Nikon D90 + glass. This will not get you there. The video features are superb and look awesome in that Insta/YT way, while the photos are great for quick point and shoot in great lighting conditions. The thing suffers in low light across the board and that means it won't work in OUR situation for natural lighting in our home, friends' homes, and evening events (music events, outings to pubs, cafes, etc, and darker-than-usual lighting while hiking in the PNW winters/springs). I can't knock it because we tried it and didn't like the results for our needs: This camera IS a great camera and does what it should. It also has no business being THIS GOOD with video. If you're looking for a VIDEO camera with the ability to do some product photos or quick snaps out with friends during the day the ZV-1 could do you very well. You don't have to mess around with lenses and the 1.8 is fast. If you're looking for superb photo quality on top of that amazing video quality it will likely disappoint. I had the luxury of a large budget and went all the way to a Sony a7c (no kit lens) and 2 lenses... and that has ticked 100% of our needs.

My husband got this for me as a birthday present. I know that the price is high, but it is very well worth it. It works fast, connects wirelessly to your phone so you can sync your photos, and makes uploading online very easy. Clarity is incredible and the battery lasts me weeks. I use it to upload my cooking. The mic is an added bonus. :)

This is a great compact 4K camera, however there are some serious learning curves with this one. The battery that comes with the camera is NOT enough! If you record in 4K the battery will only last about 20 minutes before “Battery Exhausted” and that’s if you can record a solid 20 minutes without it stopping. There is a safety feature on the camera to prevent it from overheating that maxes out 4K videos to 5 minutes, you can update your preference in the settings. If you are recording a video and it is too dark, don’t record in movie but instead record in Intelligent Mode.

Great camera! I really enjoy it and I love the quality of everything about it. The only downfall is the mechanical sound the zoom feature makes. BUT, if you are using an external mic it doesn't matter.
