Great low light recording, fast startup Social media is all a buzz about this camera and here is my opinion now that I get to use it and see if its a hero or zero. And if I am only comparing it to my cell phones camera which cost me substantially more. As an enthusiast, the ZV1F definitely rides much closer to hero. The low light capture, wide field of view and really good auto focus features of the Sony ZV1F are easily better. And with removable batteries (NP-BX1, same as my 2 other Sony cams) and SD storage. It will be much easier for keeping it ready to get the next shot done. From everything I have seen, read and experienced already, there are a few tradeoffs over the other ZV series cameras. I was more interested in testing what does work well for my interests. Since I am just starting into the world of sharing my hobbies on the internet. This looks to be a great camera to start with. Its affordable for the most part as a tool for capturing what I want to share. The 4K 24p setting seems to be a great setting for filming most of what I expect out of the camera. Low light is great. At arms length I fit the screen perfectly and the focus tracking seems to keep me in focus effortlessly. Auto settings may be the scourge of the pros, but it works well here. Sometimes easy is better than fiddling with a ton of options to get 5% improvement. While the ZV1F digital stability has its limits. If the subject is centered in the shot, it works well. Trail ride filming might be a stretch, but I have water and dust protected action cams for that. I do wish the ZV1F had an optical zoom and hot shoe for the Sony Microphone I also got for this camera. At least Sony did include a cold shoe and microphone port/jack for those who want a bit more from their audio. Also wish lens cover had been built in. Little too cheap to go with lens cap that will likely get lost. It may have a few tradeoffs over its bigger brothers in the product line. It has a price to reflect that. But with a little add-on of some filters on the 40.5mm lens thread. It will take good pics and even better video. I see no reason this will not give several years of use till I upgrade or move on to the next hobby. Bonus notes: Be sure to flip the touch screen inward to the camera to protect screen in bag or pocket. Consider the Best Buy package bundle to save a few more dollars. The "ACCVC1" Vlogger Accessory Kit is great to have. The tripod/hand grip controls made holding and using the camera easier. I also used the Sony ECMG1 shotgun microphone. It increased the audio levels and fullness in audio recording.

Easy to use. Very lightweight and compact. The camera quality is great, the only concern is battery life when recording with 4K. However, I think when you're buying a camera like this, it can get the job done.

It’s a very portable camera, lightweight and simple. My only issue is that the battery dies so easily and the image quality is not all that great for pictures. Videos on the other hand are a little step up from an iPhone

This camera is very easy to use and is beginner's friendly! I just started a youtube channel (@sincerelyhope5251) and started filming with my iPhone. It wasn't the best camera to film with but it was all I had to capture/record my videos. I knew that I wanted a camera but was on the hunt for one that did not break the bank. I had my eyes on the Sony ZV-1 because it looked nice and I felt like it fit my needs for a camera since I knew that I was going to be filming with it. When I saw that Sony had the ZV-1F, I clicked on it and did my own research, and watched about 15 videos about to camera. I made sure that I was very thorough with this since this was my very first big camera purchase, and I wanted it to last for a long time. The camera checked off every box for me: easy to use, not expensive, touchscreen, flip screen, can shoot in 4K 30fps, and very light. I bought the camera the following week and the set-up process went smoothly (I have an unboxing video on my channel). The UI is very easy to navigate and understand so there were no hiccups for me. The camera is compact and small so there isn't that much weight to it. I also bought the vlogging kit with the camera since I will be vlogging and recording things! The screen is one of the best feature of this camera, the way it flips out is amazing because now, I don't need to constantly check myself (like how I used to on my phone) and I can just easily record myself with a flip of a screen! The whole point of this camera is to just make it super easy for you to record and take a photo of whatever you want. There is nothing hard to use about this camera! I am super happy with my purchase of the ZV-1F. One tip that I would give anyone who is buying a camera, in general, is to go into the store and hold the model in your hands. Look at the camera, go into the settings, see how the UI looks, see all the different modes the camera has, etc, before making your choice. You want to make sure that this camera is the one you will love until the day it breaks.

The colors can look a bit off in low light, but it really does an awesome job when there's plenty of natural light! It has a plastic, toy-like feel, which might not be for everyone, but I actually love that about it. It makes the camera feel more approachable and adds a playful vibe to using it.

Bought this since the canon camera is always sold out! This camera has amazing quality, easy to use, and bought refurbished in excellent condition which seemed to look brand new! Only downfall is that it doesn't have flash!

This is a pretty good camera for basic recording. It has good quality. The only thing it lacks is more zoom in and zoom out.

Love the Quality of the videos and how easy the camera is to use. Easy to transfer files to phone or computer. Recommend for anyone new to cameras or just need some at a good price.

My girlfriend’s camera broke and I tried to get her something similar and she loves it. It’s better than her first one because she can rotate the screen. It’s perfect for those just getting into vlogging. Good quality and easy to use.

This camera is very beginner friendly ! It’s simple to use and has a price tag that won’t break the bank while still having really great quality! I highly recommend for anybody that’s just getting into vlogging or is looking for an affordable option for something new!

Bought this for my wedding BTS picture and videos and it worked like a charm. Long battery life and creates that nostalgic look on the images. Only con was that it doesn't have a flash

Sony has done it again! When you compare the top brand camera companies, and each of their entry level vlog cameras, I'd say Sony zv-1f sets the status quo for which all the other camera brands should be compared to. With Sony ZV-1f you get a 4k video camera, packed with rich features, and at an absolutely great price. Make sure to install the firmware update to ver. 1.1. Other accessories I've added to make this a stellar run & gun vlog camera are the Neewer 2 in 1 macro and wide angle lens. It makes the already great 20mm lens, effectively into a 18mm lens. That and a Movo VXR 10 pro microphone make this a fantastic rig for the first time content creater. Thank You Sony

Still learning, as this is my first “More Fancier” camera. So far, it’s doing what it should for clarity and quick focus. The features are easy to understand and setup is super quick. It fits well in my hands and is not heavy or uncomfortable. But, I have small hands, so I have to get used to holding it while trying not to hit buttons accidentally. It’s definitely a balancing act for me for sure until I get the hang of it. So I’m using a wrist strap from my old camera to insure I don’t drop it. Battery life…eh. But no worries they have backups to purchase. I found a really nice one on Amazon and it comes with 2extra batteries and a charging case with amazing features. The sound quality of this camera is great. The price was just right. No problems as of now, as I’m still on my journey of understanding the how to’s. But I would recommend you get one.
