I bought 3 pairs and they sound just as good as the noise canceling version which I bought also to record the No Kid Gloves podcast. My only complaint is that the cable is only 4 ft long and seems a little short to use for any studio type application.

I do like that they fold in and are in compact, but the ear phones are miniscule and I have small ears and head. Their smallness compromises the sound -- the sound escapes and outsides compete. For the half price sale they are adequate. Buy the JVC phones which are comparable in non-sale price instead. I was tempted by the sale.
