I'm a big fan of this movie and only had it in VHS. Time to move into the 21st century and get the DVD and Blue Ray. I only had a chance to watch the Blue Ray version of it so far. That version looks beautiful except during some scenes. For some reason there are a few scenes (not that many) where there seems to be a watery shadow that outlines the character as they move. It's distracting. Especially considering how crisp everything else looks. It seemed to happen mostly with just the dad, Captain Von Trapp (sp?).

I wanted the best possible version of my childhood favorite and I got it! So clear and crisp. The sound and the film were really good. so glad I added it to my library. I missed a making of documentary that an earlier dvd had but the inclusion of the Julie Andrew Salsburgh visit was nice.

I have loved this movie since I was a kid and to see the higher quality picture on bluray it is amazing how much better the sound and clors are. This is a must-buy if you own a bluray player

I remember seeing The Sound of Music when I was in elementary school and just couldn't stop myself from purchasing this Bluray version. The movie itself if exactly what I remember it to be. The storyline is fun, the Cinematography is superb and the songs bring back memories. A Con for this Bluray would be... it's not a 100% 1080p. Of course this movie was released in 1965 so it wasn't recorded in HD so software had to play a major part in the conversion. It's still better then the standard DVD version but definitely not 1080p. I would still buy this and recommend the Bluray version.

it is a remarkly love story between a man and a nun the singing is very moving the plot is outstanding i think any one who watches the movie will learn something from it it move me it is so good a good feeling to be in love the chidren voice are like little angel .

Not usually a big fan of musicals, but Sound of Music is the exception. It's a great film and I find the it to be just as enjoyable today as I did 50 years ago when it was first released.

This movie was a Mother's Day Gift. It was a great addition to our movie collection. I was lucky that it was in stock. It was well worth the price. It worked very well in my up-convert dvd player. You will not be disappointed with this choice as your Saturday Night at the Movies.

It was a gift for my 50 year old daughter to share with her granddaughters. She loved this music as a child and just played it over and over on her record player.

I picked this box set up on sale for around 30 dollars. All the extras are great including the regular DVD, and the soundtrack CD. The picture and sound on the Blue-ray is fantastic!!! Can't wait to see Oklahoma! get the same treatment!

I bought this for my husband because it is his favorite movie... We ended up not watching the movie the night it came in because he was reading all the "behind the scenes" info in the collectible book.

How can anyone really do a review of this now? It's been seen for it seems like 100 years and reviewed that long as well. It's as great now as it was when it came out. Priceless and timeless.

This is a great classic. I can picture one of the songs now "Tea, I drink with jam and bread'

I bought this movie for my young daughter. I watched this when I was young and it was great to watch the movie I love become a movie my daughter loves This is a Classic Movie for all.

with the Sound of Music! The audio and visual quality is definitely superb! One of Julie Andrews iconic roles is brought back to life to blu ray for this generation!

My wife received the Special Edition Blue Ray Set for one of her Birthday presents and she loved it. The book and the Theatrical Release brochure were an added bonus and I even looked at them. I will watch the movie with the family once a year, but my wife will watch it quite a few times and sing the songs for weeks. I agree, best musical ever, from a non-musical fan.

I was happy to be able to purchase this classic movie. I grew up on the music. Nice to be able to show to another couple of generations.

This has always been one of my favorite movies, I absolutely love the songs, the romance, absolutely everything about it.

There's no reason to review the film because this is one of the classics.This isperfect if not near perfect transfer To Blu-ray.
