Good headphones, i can play music before sleeping, and it automatically switches over to sleep mode (white noise) once it has detected ive fallen asleep. The sleep tracker on the app is very insightful. The only con is the battery life.. they barely make it 7 hours before dying. Would only recommend as long as you are aware of the battery life.

I have slept great since purchasing these and have used them every day since. Im a side sleeper and they fit comfortably and I haven’t had them fall out or cause any discomfort while sleeping. The first night they disconnected from my phone twice. I since turned off the wifi feature on my phone and they haven’t disconnected again. I also switched to sleep mode so not sure which of these two changes stopped the disconnection issue. The batteries have lasted at least 8 hours which is what i have slept. I work nights and sleep during the day. I have two dogs and dont hear a thing.

This is definitely a good earbuds to have. I used to play mobile game and watch video in bed before falling asleep. The quality of the sound is good for games and video, and it will change to white noise after I fall asleep. This product provide such a good experience. And the duration of battery is also good. no need to charge every day.

_____ *Pros: -Very small and light. -Feels very comfortable in ear and doesn’t hurt. -A good library of noise-masking sound effects. -The sound is crisp and clear. -Good battery life. -Love having an alarm that goes off inside my ear. _____ *Neutral: -Cannot view sleep data without first pairing the sleep buds to the app. _____ *Cons: -Once the sleep buds are added to the app, you can’t go back and change the sleep bud volume or toggle Adaptive Noise Masking. -When I wake up, I find the noise-masking sound to have stopped playing. These Anker Soundcore Sleep Earbuds are my third set of noise-masking sleep buds I’ve tried, and I have mixed feelings about them. On one hand, I like how small and light they are, and how comfortably they fit inside my ears without hurting them. Usually, sleeping on my side will cause pain and discomfort but these Anker ones are the most comfortable ones yet. I also like the charging case and the way the sleep buds align themselves perfectly without me having to rotate them or reposition them before charging can begin. The Bose Sleep Buds 1 was really bad at this so I’m glad Anker sidestepped this issue. Connectivity and control with the Anker Soundcore smartphone app was another positive – the sleep buds were added quickly and never lost connection when I was upgrading the firmware, browsing the sound library, or setting my alarm. The layout of the app is clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate. There are a whole bunch of sound files to choose from and my favorite sound for falling and staying asleep is Water. The audio is crisp and clear, and it felt immersive. Now, onto some negatives. The biggest annoyance for me was that after adding the sleep buds into the app, I could no longer go into the Sleep Mode tab to change the volume level or toggle on and off the Adaptive Noise Masking feature. The moment I tap on the Sleep Mode tab, the earbuds begin to play my chosen sound file and the buds become automatically disconnected from my phone’s Bluetooth. Pressing the volume buttons on my phone didn’t have any effect. This was infuriating because in order to raise the volume higher, I had to reset the sleep buds, wide the data from the Soundcore app, then start the initial pairing process all over from the beginning. So, if you don’t get the volume level right the first time during setup, then you’ll have to go through the setup process all over again. It’s a horrible design. The second negative is that the sound file stops playing the audio after a certain time and I don’t know when that happens. Every time I woke up, the sleep buds were silent and not making any sounds regardless of whether I had set an alarm or not. Fortunately, the alarm always went off, meaning it isn’t a battery life issue. My sleep buds already had one firmware update waiting for me when I first paired them with my phone. I’m hoping Anker will release more updates in the near future to correct these issues I’ve encountered. If the sleep buds didn’t behave like this, then I would’ve been so much happier. Unfortunately, the competition for the Anker sleep buds out there is not much better. I’ve tried both the first and second-generation sleep buds from a big audio company, and both of them crapped out in about a year. Until Anker releases updates the sleep buds and fixes the issues I’ve been having, I cannot rate these higher than 3 Stars. There is some potential but these aren’t that great as of now.

      Here are some tips:
      - Playtime in music mode is up to 6 hours at 50% volume.
      - Playtime in sleep mode is up to 10 hours at 50% volume.
We also recommend you try the following tips:
      - Fully charge your earbuds.
Turn on the smart switch, the earbuds will enter sleep mode after detecting the user has fallen asleep, which can prolong battery life.
      Note:
Battery playtime in Music and Sleep mode is obtained from testing in the Anker laboratory using the earbuds' default settings; no smart volume control (sleep mode only), and 50% volume.
The actual playtime may vary by volume, audio source, environmental interference, usage, etc.

Summary: Though these do not have noise canceling, they do a great job at sound isolation with lots of options for a perfect fit. They work well for falling asleep, though I question the long-term comfort for side sleepers. Also, these are not too bad as regular headphones! Unboxing: The packaging is nice. The package folds out revealing instructions, a large variety of fit options (in ear silicone and fins), the unit and a nice hockey puck charging case. There is a USB cable as well. Setup: Pairing is done via the “Soundcore” app. Pairing was easy with the device quickly finding the headphones but if there are issues, there is a small button on the back of the case to force pairing mode on your device. Use: Prior to sleep, I was impressed to see the plethora of options within the app. After a firmware update, I found a good fit using the included ear tips / wings and put them in. I was impressed that the sound isolation is actually pretty good even without ANC. The easiest way to put it is that you can still hear your kids talk comfortably but background noises seem to disappear. This is with no audio. If you are playing music or white noise (various selections), it does an even better job of blocking noise since you are focused on the audio. Comfort with wear is very good overall (more on sleep later). Within the app there are options for music and many options for various sounds while sleeping. The selection ranges from simple white noise to rain to sea wave. Non music sounds can be downloaded to the headphones directly within the app. Sleep: I am a side sleeper; I had no issues getting to sleep with these headphones and they stayed in the entire night. I have had issues with losing earbuds before as they fall out after inadvertently falling asleep while wearing, not an issue here. Sound isolation was great with some wave sounds and I could hear nothing else. After a few nights I was able to test it while sleeping in other settings. I have a job with some extremely long shifts on some days and people fall asleep while on standby. The sound did an ok job of blocking a snorer nearby but if they are heavily snoring, they will not take care of that. I woke up most nights wearing this as a side sleeper with pain in the ear I was lying on and had to remove them. By that point in the night, I was already tired enough I had no issue falling back to sleep but I could never wear them the entire night on my side. If you are a back sleeper this should be a non-issue. The app can monitor sleep patterns and provide a nice little alarm clock to wake you at set times. I did not see any option for Google Fit integration and am unsure about Apple Health. Audio quality: For music, these are actually pretty good headphones! The only part of the audio range that is weak are the highs. Mids and bass are surprisingly good. I highly recommend these for podcasts, audiobooks or light / lo-fi style music. The drivers are smaller and meant to have lower volume output. The extra bass probably comes from the isolation and depth in the ear canal. Battery: I never ran out of battery for the night. The website quotes them at six hours for music and 10 hours for white noise. With up to four extra charges within the case. These should never die on you. Other notes: -Firmware updates are very small (less than a MB) but they take a very long time to update. -Multipoint Bluetooth is not supported and it seemed to me I had to repair anytime I switched devices, so have a single phone or tablet you use this with -SBC and AAC codecs are supported

There are two parts to our upgrade, in addition to upgrading the headset firmware, now white noise can be downloaded into the headset. Under normal circumstances, it can be completed within 5 minutes. At the same time, the upgrade time is also related to the equipment and network conditions. Please keep the network in good condition.

The Soundcore Sleep A10 earbuds works like earplug, and it does reduce ambient sound by around half. This earbuds is very small and light but has surprising good audio quality. Tonal signature is pretty balanced, does not sound tiny at all. It also comes with equalizer to change the acoustic response to your heart content, like heavier bass or louder treble, sure. Due to the small size, it hides inside your ears with no protrusion, so no problem if you are a side sleeper. I can feel it in my ear but still can sleep comfortably. It comes with a very nice case that charges the earbuds. Earbuds easily snap in and hold on via magnet. Without the app, it will only function like a regular earphone. With the app, it can monitor my sleep and detect and switch to sleep mode automatically if enabled. Sleep tracking is pretty accurate compare to my smart watch. The earbuds is easy to pair with my phone, just open the case and I can find it in my phone's Bluetooth device list. The earbuds has 2 modes, music mode and sleep mode. During music mode, any sound from the phone is output to the earbuds, volume is controlled by the phone volume buttons but in sleep mode, you can only listen to sound downloaded to the earbuds and volume is controlled by the app. The phone's volume buttons have no effect. Battery life is good, the next morning the earbuds still has 50% charge. After update firmware, it needs to re-upload the sleep music. One thing that can cause frustration is the performance is very dependent on wearing the earbuds correctly and it is very hard to wear it correctly. If you don't wear it correctly, it will sound awful. It does show you a video on how to wear it, if I look into a mirror while wearing it, I can get it to fit in correctly. 4 stars because I wish it has active noise cancelling and a mic.

These sleep earbuds were definitely worth the shot, though I do have a few withholdings: First, the battery life I was not happy with. It's not bad, but the left ear ran out after a little under 7 hours, the other side went out about 30 minutes later. This was done off a full battery's charge by the way. I would think sleep earbud batteries would be designed to last at least a full 8 hour sleep session (not like I ever get that much anyway, but earbuds are supposed to help me get more, haha). A few good things though: they are specifically formulated for sleep, so comfort is top priority with these. They fit right into my ears; similar to a slightly larger ear plug. They are Bluetooth compatible and can function as standard earbuds if needed, but I have some better quality ones for standard listening ---- I'd reserve these strictly for sleeping only. They provide sleep sounds, however I just utilize my own Spotify station for sleep sounds instead. Interestingly, the sounds turned on when my room got extra noisy, so these really are smart earbuds for sure. There is also a sleep tracker, but I track my sleep on my smart watch already so I don't really use this one. At the end of the day, these are basic earbuds that are not much to compare to standard buds, however they have standard buds beat all day long when it comes to comfort and ear fit.

Great when they work, battery life leaves a lot to be desired. I do really like these sleep buds as opposed to a dedicated white noise sound machine since they passively block external noise, as well as provide a masking sound. They are really comfortable in the ear, and do stay in place the entire night. I am a side sleeper and they actually stay in my ears the whole night without loosening out and losing the seal. I know everyone's ears are different so everyone's experience with these will be different. There's 2 main gripes I have with these however. 1) Battery life doesn't even last through a night with my right bud. I start the night with them fully charged, and every time I wake up, the right one is dead. Sometimes even after only about 5 or 6 hours. Not sure if they're defective or what is going on, but I'll wake up and the left one is sitll going albeit, almost dead, but the right one is definitely off. There have been some nights only about 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I wake up and expected them to both be working but the right one was off. I reconnected them and checked the app and the right one was dead. The second gripe, When you go to use them, they default to music mode. I wish there was a setting to lock them to sleep mode, or have an option to select which mode it defaults to when pulled out of the case. I never use music mode with them, and I'd venture to guess most people using them have trouble sleeping and use them to assist in sleep and not listen to music. I just want to pull them out of the case, and have it start in sleep mode instead of fiddling with an my phone, an app, Bluetooth etc. every single night. As it works now, you have to turn BT on, on your phone, open the app, connect the buds to the app and select "sleep mode", then turn BT off and go to sleep. Also I wish there were more options for white noises. A lot of the sounds available are city sounds, water type, insects etc. Most people probablt use some different frequencies of white noise but there's only two, maybe 3 options for white noises. For reference- Yes, everything is up to date, firmwares etc. I don't even use "music" mode. Pull them out and turn on sleep mode right away which is supposed to be better on battery life. I wish there was a way to completely disable BT wireless while using them and only have BT enabled for sound transfers or FW updates while in the case. I would imagine this would extend battery life significantly.

Very impressed these work so well. I have never slept with earbuds in before but was needing some as i have developed tinnitus. If you don't know what that is it is a ringing in the ear that really never stops. So sleeping has been a little bit of a problem. So want to try and drown out the ring with other noise but headphones are to big and other earbuds stick out and fall out during my sleep. So i have worn these for over a week and have to say they are very comfortable and fit snug in my ears. They give you a lot of extra sizes to try to make sure it is the correct fit and they stay in. I connected it to the app and gives you a big play list of other sounds like rain witch is the one i like. They have the ocean and just a good verity of white noise and so on. You can also have music playing if you want i know some people like the sound of that but when you have the music going it will let the your phone notification play. So you have 2 settings music and sleep mode sleep is just sleep nothing but the sounds you pick will play but you can set the alarm on it. This will also track you sleep and will tell you how much deep sleep you have had for the night and for the week. If you haven't worn a pair they take no time to get use to them you wont fell them in your ears at all. They do such a great job at blocking out all the other noises in the house you wont hear the TV or wife talking to you "AWESOME" just kidding on the awesome for the wife. I did find that the battery life are great i didn't have to charge the case back up all week so you didn't die overnight on me. I did get a little sensitive toward the end of the week as i like to sleep on my side and they pushed a little to hard on the buds. But it wasn't like a bad pain just irritation in the ear. I just make an adjustment to my pillow so they wound't push to hard. Overall i see myself using these when i sleep they cancel out the tinnitus and another way to track my sleep.

I've honestly toyed with the thought of returning these. Are they comfortable to sleep in, even on my side? Yes. Do they sound awesome while playing music and whatnot in my ears? Absolutely. My issues with them are their connectivity and the fact that one bud ALWAYS dies before the other. Some nights I have zero issues with these buds connecting and staying connected. Other nights they constantly cut out and frustrate the crap out of me while I'm trying to fall asleep. I'm careful to make sure they're inserted the proper way every single time... So I don't know why they do this. Especially since my phone sits less than two feet away from the buds on my nightstand. Even if the connection is great however, I always wake up with one bud completely dead, while the other is 50% or more in battery. It's *usually* the left bud that's dead, but the right bud has also taken its turn a couple times. I don't know if the fact that I tend to sleep on my left side has anything to do with this, but it's still obnoxious. Especially when I can't get the buds to log sleep data in the AM when one of them is dead. I don't know if I'll keep them despite the issues or return them. If there was another product out there that was similar to these and not ridiculously expensive, they'd probably already be gone.

Very Good, Just Short of Great Overall I find the Soundcore Sleep Earbuds to be a solid product. It mostly does exactly what it is supposed to do. I am giving it 4 stars because of some limitations with the product that I am hoping can be fixed with future firmware and/or software updates. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. I was eager to try these sleep specific earbuds because I have trouble sleeping and wanted to start keeping track of my sleep patterns. I am also a light sleeper and wanted to try the white noise masking feature. My significant other is also a light sleeper so we were both intrigued by the concept. The first problem that I noticed was that the earbuds sometimes disconnect from my phone in the middle of the night. I am not quite sure why this happens some nights and not others, but it does happen. If this happens all the sleep data after the disconnect is not recorded, and the data before the disconnect can’t be retrieved until the earbuds are reconnected. Another problem I had was that the earbuds are supposed to detect when a person falls asleep and then turn the sleep sound effects off. However, in practice the earbuds sometimes detect that I am sleeping when I am not. Luckily the earbuds can be set to always play sleep sounds. I find the sleep sounds to be very effective masking out other more disturbing noises. Especially considering that these earbuds function as earplugs due to the passive noise canceling. Other than the sleep functions, these earbuds can be used as a traditional set of wireless earbuds by using them in music mode as opposed to sleep mode. I really like the design of the case because it slides open instead of the usual flip up to open. The case uses magnets and sliding the case open is easier than overcoming the magnetic resistance of flip to open cases. Soundcore makes some of the best earbuds on the market, and these earbuds live up to their reputation. The sound quality is excellent. I would have no trouble taking these earbuds with me on a trip and having them pull double duty as sleep aid and wireless earbuds. If Souncore can work out some of the glitches with the sleep mode then they will have a real winner on their hands. Unfortunately for me they sometimes did not work exactly as well as I would have hoped in sleep mode. If I had to guess, I would say that the sleep mode glitched 1 in 5 times or so. My significant other tried them as well and she had the same problems. So they are still very good, but just short of being great.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Thank you for your support. We promise to continue striving to exceed your expectations! The following are the tips for your reference:
Please know that if the earphones are too deep into the ear, it affects the Bluetooth performance. Normally, replace the ear tips or ear wings with a larger size to reduce the in-ear depth of the ear wings and indirectly improve the RF performance.
To fix this issue, try the following:
      1. Fully charge and reset your earbuds as stated below and repair them.
Place the earbuds in the charging case and leave the case open. Press and hold the button on the charging case for 10 seconds until the LED indicators on the case flash white 3 times and then flash in sequence. This confirms that the reset was successful and your earbuds can be connected normally.
      2. Make sure you're wearing the earbuds correctly(check the HOW TO WEAR card in your package).
      3. Try another set of ear tips and ear wings in a different size.
      4. Check the earbuds by listening to a downloaded song/video if you're using them in music mode.
      5. Check the earbuds with another Bluetooth device in a different environment to see if there's a difference.

For the mode to change automatically, in some specific scenarios, the left button on the Sleep A10 earbuds may be accidentally double-tapped, which switches the mode. In this situation, firmly tapping the left earbud twice will switch back to the desired mode.

About the sleeping detection, please note that our sleep report is given using the data gathered from your earbuds. Sometimes the earbuds can misinterpret certain activities as you are asleep or awake. For example, if you’re wearing them and sit still for a while or you just leave your earbuds out of the case for a prolonged period of time, it may interpret as sleep. The soundcore app would then use this data in your sleep report, therefore distorting your sleep curve.

These sleep buds are great for their intended purpose. Sound doesn't go that loud on them so I wouldn't expect to use them to jam to your tunes during the day, they simply don't have enough volume and punch for that. But that's what makes them nice and petite, and comfortable to sleep in, even on your side. I love that you can fall asleep to any audio you like, unlike the Bose sleep buds. I use a sleep meditation from the Calm app on my mobile or tablet, and these buds will automatically switch over to it's built-in sleep sound (you can customize that) once it detects you've fallen asleep. My only gripe, very minor, is that they come only in white and there isn't a locating feature (though I realize that'd add some bulk to the buds). So if you've got all white bedding like me (and a hole in your duvet cover LOL), make sure to use the little tabs to help keep them in your ears, and don't be trying to put them back into the case in the wrong slots when you're half asleep... that way you don't lose them in your bedding. Even hard rock on full power didn't go loud enough for me to locate them by sound alone! LOL PS - they aren't noise canceling to completely block out snoring, again that'd just add bulk to their slimline design, but if you ensure a good fit with the 4 different sized buds, and you've got sound or music playing anyway, it does a decent enough job of keeping your partner's snoring muffled.

About the volume, please note that when you use them in sleep mode, you need to adjust the volume in the app. For the noise cancelling feature, these earbuds don't support ANC, but they use a 4-point passive noise masking system to block out external noises.

Regarding the color, I will forward it to our product team for further improvement. You know, a perfect product requires several improvements per the customer's voice and we always strive to improve our products. Appreciate your voice on this!

Bought these to replace Bose Sleepbuds. The sound quality is very good. I like the fact you can switch to music from any music app like Pandora and listen. That is a big upgrade from Bose. The drawback is, the music mode drains the battery and you may not get more than 6 hrs (maybe) in music mode. The battery lasts about 8 hours in sleep mode but the promise is 9 hours. As far as sounds there is a wide variety broken down by relaxation, sleep, focus etc. I didn’t like having to pick one and if you want to change then there is a 45 second download time to do so. I recommend since the price comparison to Bose is a third of the price and then work, are comfortable and fit in the ear with a twist. Also there are switch controls by tapping but not for sound just pause and sleep/music mode. These also don’t shut out sounds as well but again Bose not available and are very costly even for refurbished set.

      Here are some tips:
      - Playtime in music mode is up to 6 hours at 50% volume.
      - Playtime in sleep mode is up to 10 hours at 50% volume.
We also recommend you try the following tips:
      - Fully charge your earbuds.
      - Turn on the smart switch, the earbuds will enter sleep mode after detecting the user has fallen asleep, which can prolong battery life.

I use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea & the exhaust from the face mask often wakes me up after 2-4 hours of sleep. Given their description, I thought these buds would be ideal for helping me relax with some BT music of my own & then provide some appropriate white noise or other background sound to help obscure that intrusive whooshing so I could continue to get as much quality sleep as possible. In the end, my results with the Sleep A10s were a bit mixed; as such, I would have a hard time giving them a hands-down recommendation unless you find the price or size as compared to any alternatives particularly compelling. Starting with the design, these are some of the smallest & lightest true wireless buds I've EVER used--the fact that they manage to produce some surprisingly decent sound from an enclosure this small is remarkable. The Sleep A10s are what I would consider just a bit "thick" at the low end--not bass-heavy or bloated, but they do offer very pleasing performance in the lower registers that helps give music or complex video soundtracks (BT A/V delay was virtually unnoticeable, BTW) just a bit of heft, enough so that I gladly used them for casual BT listening on my iPhone & Steam Deck. However, un-EQ'd mids did seem a bit recessed & hollow; highs also lacked some of the razor's edge clarity & "sparkle" you might get from higher-quality buds. Granted, audiophile music quality is not really the point here, nor do these offer support for any high-res codecs like aptX-HD or LDAC. Nevertheless, I was able to dial in the sound more to my liking using one of the 22 (!!!) EQ presets available in the Soundcore companion app; or you could create your own preset using the 8-band custom EQ. I suspect that other than *not* catering to any ultra-rabid bass-heads out there (because you're simply not going to get any visceral, gut-punch-style bass performance out of sleep-oriented buds that are *this* tiny), there's bound to be an EQ setting in here that gets you more than pleasant results for causal/leisure BT listening beyond just getting your brain ready for sleep. Those tiny buds & their low profile supposedly make the A10s better suited for side-sleepers; I tepidly agree. I have about half a dozen other true wireless buds at home & all of them are too large to wear comfortably in bed if I roll over onto my side. As the anatomy of my outer ear is somewhat shallow, I found the A10s ALMOST comfortable enough to wear while side sleeping, but eventually the gentle pressure of the pillow pushing the bud into my ear canal forced me to roll back over & remove at least one of them. Fortunately, I spend most of my time asleep on my back because of the CPAP...and in that position, these buds are positively dreamy (no pun intended). While already small in construction, Soundcore offers 3 sizes of ear wings & 4 sizes of silicone tips to help get you a good, comfortable, & sound-blocking seal. Whether asleep on my back or just using them while I was up & about, the A10s are about the most comfortable true wireless buds I've ever used--and the first buds I've EVER tried that did not leave my ears feeling sore & fatigued after wearing them all night long. Okay, that covers sound & comfort which are the two factors that always make or break any buds I try & ultimately decide to pass or keep, but these are a bit different as their primary purpose is for sleep-related functionality. So...what’s the verdict here? To start, be sure you know that these buds are NOT noise-cancelling; they are not going to make you feel like you're sleeping in a dead-silent anechoic sound chamber. They offer passive noise blocking via the in-ear seal & noise masking by whatever sounds happen to be pumping through the buds as you drift off to sleep. As such, I could still make out the hum of the fan near my bedside, a faint bit of wind noise escaping from my CPAP mask, & at least awareness of the fact that my wife was sometimes talking to me in bed (though in fairness, I could not make out a single word she was saying until I took one bud out to hear clearly again). In that respect, the buds do greatly attenuate ambient noise to help you sleep more soundly, but they do not eliminate it entirely--unless you happen to crank up the BT audio or sleep-aid sounds in the buds themselves, but then good luck falling asleep with the volume so high! The lion's share of the remaining sleep-oriented functionality relies on the companion Soundcore app, & here is where things started to falter just a bit. Like any good "smart" sleep aid, you can monitor the quality of your sleep throughout the night--but only so long as you start the Soundcore app on your phone before going to bed; otherwise, your sleep patterns will not be recorded by the buds & then synced to your phone later. My sleep state recordings seemed hit-or-miss. Some nights I would have a record of my entire sleep cycle (the app even captured the 3-hours I used them later in the day during one of my medical treatments), but other nights the app/buds only managed to get about 1-2 hours of sleep data on record despite me leaving the buds in (and being asleep) for several hours as verified by the sleep counter on my CPAP machine. The app also features something called "Smart Volume Control" which supposedly adjusts the volume of the cycling sleep sounds according to the level of ambient/external noise measured by your smartphone's mic. However, I had to turn the volume of the sleep mode WAY up just to hear the selected sleep sound (my favorite was simply blowing winds) at all, & if I left the Smart Volume Control enabled, I couldn't hear anything from the buds when I would wake up in the middle of the night. The Soundcore app is also a bit confusing in terms of the A10's two operational modes of use. In "Music Mode," you can listen to any BT music/audio source on your phone, but it's also the mode where you select from one of the 30 or so "Sleep Mode" soundbite songs (birds, wind, water, static white noise, musical instruments, etc.) used for in-ear noise-masking. These "songs" are only 30-40 seconds long & do not repeat so you can't really jump around in Music Mode making night-long playlists of seaside surf, babbling brooks, thunderstorms, & cello music for falling asleep. The idea is that you select the ONE soundbite you like & mark it as a favorite; that copies the soundbite to the A10's internal memory which will then be used as the default sound for Sleep Mode. During Sleep Mode playback, the soundbite is looped for as long as you keep the buds in your ears. However, you can also fall asleep using the Music Mode's brainwave music feature which supposedly adds in some sleep-oriented brainwave oscillations to the sleep aid soundbites...or so it used to be. As of this writing, the Soundcore app was updated less than a week ago & the brainwave option no longer appears in my Soundcore app even though the instructions for how to get to that page are still in the app's How-To video section :-( Assuming you're still with me, there is just a bit more capability (and confusion) left under the hood. Using the Soundcore app, you can set the buds to use "Smart Switch" which automatically turns off the current audio source from the Music Mode when the app senses you're asleep & switches to the looped sleep aid soundbite you set for the Sleep Mode. This is certainly handy if you want to go to sleep to the melodic sounds of your favorite podcast & then transition to some wind chimes or frog chirps for the rest of the night. But this feature was especially confusing when I first got the buds because I was using the brainwave sleep aid feature from the Music Mode which overlayed some sort of brainwave trickery with a looped song from the Music Mode library--but it was the same "song" that I was using for the looped sleep mode playback, so I wasn’t sure exactly which mode I was still in by the time I woke up. Credit where credit is due--if you don't want to futz with your phone in the middle of the night to engage Sleep Mode (and who would want to if the idea was to keep you as close to being asleep as possible?), you can double-tap the flat surface of the left bud to switch operational modes between sleep & music, & you are even greeted by a softly spoken prompt indicating "Sleep Mode" or "Music Mode"--nice! Double tapping the right bud also starts/pauses playback in its default setting. If you don't like those settings, the app lets you further customize on-ear controls for volume adjustment or playback skip (next/previous), though sadly you can only customize a single command for a single operation (double-tap) per ear...at the very least, I would have appreciated the ability to program a single tap as well. But in a brilliant bit of usability design, the Soundcore Sleep A10s do feature an in-ear alarm. If you manage to sleep all night with these buds in your ears, they can simulate a beeping alarm clock that only you can hear...my wife definitely appreciated the continued silence when I had to get up really early for a medical procedure last week. Other than that, the buds are pretty much your standard mid-tier fare for 2022. Setup was nothing tricky, the buds & case hold a decent charge, & the case features a more robust USB-C port with magnetized recesses to keep the buds from falling out. But the sliding-top case is a bit oversized given how small the buds are & there is no wireless charging option. The white colorway sets these apart from most other buds, but the white ear tips also show wax & dirt *FAR* more readily. Given their decent yet somewhat underwhelming audio performance, decent yet not outstanding sound masking/isolation, and the fiddly sleep aids that are primarily linked back to oddities/weaknesses in the current Soundcore app, the A10s do what they claim to in a resoundingly good, but not great, fashion; some refinement in the app especially could sway my otherwise lukewarm recommendation.

I've been wanting to find a pair of earbuds that would work well for sleeping for awhile now, so I was excited to give these a shot. I've used a variety of true wireless earbuds over the past couple of years, and my current favorite are just too big to be comfortable. Let's start with fit. These are the smallest true wireless earbuds I've ever used. They fit very well, and there are a variety of silicone tips and "wings" included, so there'll likely be one that works great for you. The box includes the earbuds, their charging case and a USB-C cable for charging. The cable is pretty standard, nothing notable here. The case is a sort of pearl white, and holds enough juice for seven charges, according to Anker. It takes about two hours for a full charge, which will last 6 hours in Music mode and 10 hours in sleep mode at 50% volume. I'm not sure if that's entirely accurate, but I've had plenty of charge left on the earbuds after wearing them to bed (my volume is set to around 30%). The charger face slides open smoothly with a satisfying click as the magnets lock it into position. Oh, and If part of the reason you're looking at these is because someone sleeping next to you doesn't want to hear what you want to hear, I can tell you that even outside of your ear, they're inaudible at less than a foot away at 50% volume. Audio quality is good, especially for something I'm primarily wearing to bed. It doesn't match my other earbuds, but it's fine for sleep. Most of the time I'm listening to an audiobook or something with the volume fairly low. It did seem to struggle pretty hard with quality above 50% volume until I went into the Soundcore app and started playing with the equalizer. Even the built in presets dramatically improved the sound. It's also important to make sure you've got a good fit. The app is unintuitive. It starts off strong, immediately attempting to pair the earbuds and walking you through some basics, but it quickly goes downhill. The Discovery and Profile tabs seem more interested in trying to sell me sunglasses than providing me with functionality, and I had to hunt around to try to figure out how to use it. I did manage to stumble across the equalizer, which you're going to need, and the white noise function, which is impressively customizable. Want to listen to dogs barking and ducks quacking in the rain? Anker's got you covered. There's also an alarm function inside of the sleep mode if you want to make sure it stops playing white noise and wakes you up. Unfortunately, if you really wanted to fall asleep listening to dogs barking and ducks quacking in the rain, you're going to have to do it outside of sleep mode. This means the alarm function won't work, and it won't track your sleep patterns. Not a huge deal for me, because I track my sleep with another device, but if that's something you're looking forward to, know that the only things you can listen to in sleep mode are one of Anker's 30ish presets. You can't listen to music, podcasts, audiobooks, your custom DogDuckRain white noise profile, or anything else with sleep mode turned on. Overall, the earbuds are very comfortable for sleeping. I'm a side sleeper and while I did initially fear that one was going to fall out during the night, so far they haven't. There's no way I could smash one of my other earbuds into a pillow and be able to fall asleep, so that alone makes these worth it for me, I just won't be using the Soundcore app for anything other than the equalizer. I recommend this if you're looking for small earbuds with good audio quality to wear to bed and aren't expecting to use them for much more than that.

Pros Small enough to fit in the ear Works good for side sleepers Works with your music or white noise Can create custom white noise Tracks your sleep Can turn off automatically when you fall asleep Can adjust volume based on your phone’s microphone Long battery life Decent sound quality for size Adjustable EQ Cons Sometimes put pressure on ear canal Can’t automatically switch from music to white noise Soft materials catch on some fabrics Viewing sleep history requires turning on earbuds Small size makes them easy to lose in bed Controls require hard double tap Music mode doesn’t loop available sounds The SoundCore A10 look about like any other earbuds while in the case. The case looks like a small white pillow and has a soft touch finish. Once you open the case is when you see the difference. First, the case doesn’t hinge open but instead slides open. The earbuds hardly take any room in the case. They are much smaller than normal. They are held securely in the charging case by magnets. When you take them out you also notice that the stem that goes in your ear is just large enough to fit the silicone tip. Initially they feel awkward to remove from the case and put in your ears because of their size and shape. If you aren’t grabbing onto the soft wing that holds it in your ear, then you are grabbing onto the soft ear tip that goes into your ear canal. Putting them in your ears is also different than normal. When you put them in they don’t feel like they apply much pressure and it almost feels like the wing isn’t grabbing anything until you realize that is because the earbuds are so much lighter. Except for the gentle pressure in your ear, it almost feels as though nothing is there. Setup is a familiar process. Just install the app, create an account, and the app walks you through the setup process. However, the app is much different in that it has a music section and sleep section. The layout is a bit confusing. It seems the music section is where you can choose music or ambient sounds to help you focus, relax, or meditate. The problem is any music or sounds started from the music section only play once. Considering these are short loop tracks you only hear playback for only a minute. There is not option to repeat or create a playlist. The tracks do loop if you are in the sleep mode. What is strange is for some reason the music section where you choose the sound for the sleep. After choosing your sound you set it as your favorite, and it uploads it directly to the earbuds. This how you can play the sound/song on loop. This plays the song directly on the earbuds, without Bluetooth, increasing playback time from 6 hours, on Bluetooth to 10 hours on sleep. The limitation is you get to choose only one sound to loop. If you want to use regular music, then you choose the music option and then play music using your favorite music streaming app. For regular music you can choose from a list of EQ presets or set your own EQ profile. In sleep mode you can have the volume change dynamically based on the noise around you using your phone’s microphone, but this feature doesn’t work for regular music. You also have the option to have it turn music or the white noise off after it detects you have fallen asleep if you prefer. By default, it will continue to play what you have set. It would be nice to have the option to set it to change from your music to white noise the moment you fall asleep allowing the music to put you to sleep and the white noise to keep you asleep. Unfortunately, this feature doesn’t exist now, but it would great to see it added. Overall, they do a good job of muffling outside sounds, but if you sleep next to someone who snores loudly you will still hear them. However, the overall volume will be reduced a good amount. While the small size makes it a little harder to handle, the benefit is they rarely bother you while sleeping. You can feel but them they don’t put a lot of pressure on your ear canal. Since they are flat and low profile, they rarely cause problems for side sleepers too. On rare occasions you can lay on them just right to put pressure on the side of your ear canal, but a slight move of your head can fix that. This is far better than traditional earbuds. Even if they don’t bother you, one issue that is a little more common is if you put pressure at just the right angle the ear tip will block the earbud. This will cause a noticeable change in volume on one side that can occasionally even wake you up. The fact that the earbuds are encased in a silicone boot also means that from time to time the will catch things like your pillowcase. This can lead an earbud being snagged out while you sleep. With their small size this can making finding them in bed a challenge. Controls are limited only to a double tap on each earbud. You can configure what action the double tap performs but that is all you get. Everything else is adjusted via your phone. The controls aren’t touch sensitive. You must do a hard double tap. Think back to when you were a kid and the first time you tried out a doctor’s stethoscope and tapped out on while wearing it. This is nearly what it sounds like to use the double tap controls on the earbuds. It understandable why Anker doesn’t use traditional controls for sleep earbuds. The last thing you need is to accidentally active them while sleeping. However, it would be nice if Anker could improve on this compromise a bit more, so it doesn’t sound like you are trying to pop your eardrum to adjust. Since primary purpose of the Soundcore A10’s is for sleep you also won’t find a microphone. You can tell the focus is on sleep more than sound quality. The Soundcore A10 doesn’t stand out when it comes to sound quality. They are bass heavy with some mids and the high range being a bit thin for standard music. At lower volumes or when listing to white noise the combination works quite well. For music, you hear more of the low sounds to allow the beat to put you to sleep and hear just enough of the highs to recognize your song. For white noise, the drivers seem to be well suited. Of course, with the EQ you can tweak things more to your taste, but you still want to keep your expectations in check. While the focus is sleep there are sounds intended to help with relaxation or focus, but it seems volume is limited within the app so outside sounds can more easily distract. While the focus is on helping you sleep, you can also track your sleep. The Soundcore A10 can track your deep sleep, light sleep, awake time, and overall asleep time. If you are just looking for the basics of sleep tracking, the Soundcore A10 has you covered. However, if you are looking to get more specific information on your sleep habits you are going to need a fitness wearable to more granular information. The A10s are just for the basics. Final Thoughts The Soundcore A10 earbuds help solve a problem regular earbuds don’t. If you prefer to fall asleep to music or ambient sounds and have issues with your regular earbuds, particularly if you are a side sleeper, the Soundcore A10 could be a good solution.

Here are the tips for you to wear them correctly:

      - Choose the ear tips and ear wings that fit your ears the best, we recommend that you start with
size M ear tips and ear wings.
      - Insert the earbud into your ear and find a suitable position for the best fit. If the earbuds are too deep in your ears, it may affect the Bluetooth connection.
      - When using them in bed, try a different soft pillow.
      - Use soft pillows. Pillows that are too hard may exert more pressure on your ears if you sleep on
your side, which can affect the connection to your phone.
      - Do not use water pillows or pillows with metal or magnetic components.

If you need to play local white noise in a loop, please download it in the music mode and set the default sleep music, and then you can play it in a loop in the sleep mode.
