Cliche and "by the numbers" melodrama. Not a bad movie, but the middle portion is drawn out and drags somewhat. 50 Cent (somehow) not really convincing playing a fight manager. The steelbook is very good, sturdy with inner artwork.

I wanted to see this movie when it came out to theaters, but I didn't. I really should have rented it, but I ended up buying it when it was on sale. It is an okay movie. I guess I was just expecting it to be better.

This movie was pretty good but I was really hoping that it wouldn't be another Rocky type movie but that really is what it is. The movie was acted really well but it just wasn't really very original.

If you are into popcorn movies where there isn't too much thinking involved then this is the movie for you. Jake and forest make a great team, but there isn't too much of a character arc for forest.

Not as interesting as I thought...and there is no character development. I hate the way that Jake Gyllenhaal talks in the movie. It's like he's got brain damage or something. I was disappointed.

I missed this in the theater but heard good things and had the sense I would like the movie so I went ahead and bought it at the sale price. Looking forward to checking it out.

Gyllenhaal disappears into his character here but the movie gets a little too melodramatic at times. Not terrible, but I wanted to like it more than I did. Still worth a watch.

Its a good boxing movie. Like all boxing movies, the fight isn't just in the ring. However, this boxer's fight outside the rings is truly worthwhile. Gyllenhaal plays it well.

I enjoyed the movie. I enjoy any boxing movie and this one had a good story and good cast but I really wish it included the digital copy. I would recommend the movie.

Jakes performance is great, the writing does leave something to be desired. It's not the best boxing movie of 2015(creed)but it is a very watchable film.

Gyllenhal acts better than most movies he's been in. Whitaker is always a good actor. Somewhat realistic boxing throughout. Better than most Rocky movies.

I enjoyed this flick although the story line was predictable. I don't know that I would want to watch this movie over and over again however.

Very similar to Never Back Down but doesn't quite live up to expectations. Starts off strong, ends strong, but there should have been more fighting.

This movie is pretty good. It is the type of movie where nothing really catches you off-guard but still keeps it interesting.

the movie in the end wasn't that great. The story didn't do much to stand out. It was just an average flick in the end.
