Gyllenhall ALWAYS gives great performances, but in my opinion he is above and beyond this type of role. (see Nightcrawler, Enemy, Prisoners) Kurt Sutter struck gold with The Shield and Sons of Anarchy, but even those eventually ran out of steam. Southpaw is a mediocre film at best. Check out any of the 3 films or 2 shows that I mentioned above before wasting time with Southpaw.

This movie was good but I was expecting more from the creator of Sons of Anarchy. Still worth watching.

Have not seen the actual movie Southpaw yet, but the steelbook is very dark & nice, it's a matte finish!

having to watch this movie i thought majority of the time i lost interest in the middle of the movie
