I STARTED WATCHING SPARTACUS ON STARZ ON DEMAND ONE DAY WHEN I WAS BORED AND WAS BLOWN AWAY! THE STORY IS CENTERED AROUND THE MAIN CHARACTER SPARTACUS AND HOW HE WAS CAPTURED AND PLACED INTO SLAVERY, MADE TO FIGHT IN THE ARENA AS A GLADIATOR. THERE'S ALOT OF BLOOD AND GORE AND PLENTY OF BACK STORY FOR THE MOST DIE HARD FANS OF GOOD TV. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW SEASON TO START.

This is the first time i have ever owned a tv show on dvd. my friends recommended this one because of the story line, the graphics, and the characters. I was blown away from the first episode until the last, can't wait until the next season comes out. My prayers goes out to the guy who plays the main character hope he gets better soon. This role was meant for him, I can't see anyone else playing Spatacus.....

well i first started watching this on starz on demand when i was just grazing through movies. i fell in love with it since episode 1 and cudnt stop watching it since ive watched the whole series at least 4 times its purely epic! the acting is amazing everyone played there parts to perfection, the graphics are insane the blood and fight scenes are the best thing ever, the story is very intense it has a alot of deception betrayal and is rich with excitement that keeps you watching. and some of the lines are just hilarious. its just an epic show and now with the DVD ill be watching it many more times! =D

This is an awesome television show! The action is great and the acting is top-notch with superb dialogue. The fighting and passion on display will leave you awestruck. This is a quality show throughout and you will not regret for a second getting this DVD set. Andy Whitfield is incredible as Spartacus. His passing from his cancer took him from his fans much too soon. His acting talent was only matched by his bravery facing his cancer. My condolences to his family.

I watched this non stop... it was a new experience for me, just could not stop watching it! Only advice, this should no be watched by kids!

I saw a few episodes of Blood and Sand and knew I had to get it on Blu-ray. The picture quality is fantastic. There is a lot of violence in this show and an abundance of blood, a la 300, but after a while you get used to the slow-mo death in the arena because there is some awesome fight choreography. The story is great and there is a lot of twists and back stabbing (literally) to keep you wanting to watch the next episode. It is very easy to watch 2-3 episodes in 1 sitting. There is a lot of graphic nudity in this show so if you have kids, please be sure they are put to bed before watching this. This is not family viewing. If you are free of children, enjoy. Buy this now...but know that you will get addicted and will be buying the other seasons.

This show is fantastic! The action is amazing and the acting is superb. It does contain some adult scenes so keep it away from the kiddies. But the combination of action and storyline is enthralling. Deifintely spring for the Blu-Ray over the DVD.

This is the first series that I was compelled to buy after watching it on netflix. I have since watched it a total of 3 times. Andy Whitfield was a superb Spartacus. I also enjoyed the prequel and bought it recently. I have the second season on preorder. This show is really great. I will spend hours watching it over and over again. The characters are interesting. This is a very sexy and entertaining show. Although it saddens me at the death of Andy, the show still shows great promise and interest. I would have liked to see more behind the scenes of which they did for the prequel.

I watched this show once on Netflix, and couldn't much get into it. However, I gave it a second chance, and man, am I glad I did! I was addicted to this show. I don't much care for television series, but I got completely hooked on this one and couldn't wait for the next week. I ended up taking time off and doing a movie marathon. Great cinematography, a really fun plot...but be warned about the nudity (male and female) and adult themes. Just really too bad that we lost Andy. I almost don't want to watch the new season only because he's not in it, but will watch it to honor his memory.

Heck yeah!!!! This series is awesome. Blood, Guts, and Babes... what else could you ask for in a series. The cinematography is great and it is very graphic. Absolutely not suitable for kids but great for guys who like action.

If you loved the "Gladiator" movie, you will love this series. You will live the ups and downs of a gladiator. Feel his emotions. Deal with his battles, in and out of the arena. You won't want it to end. This is not for the squimish-lots of bloodshed, but done well.

I watched Spartacus on Starz and as soon as it came out on Blu-ray I had to get it. It has to be hands down one of the best shows ever! On Blu-ray it was like watching for the first time all over again because of the HD clarity, sound, and everything else that goes with that. If you saw the show, you HAVE to buy the Blu-ray set. If you didn't see the show, you HAVE to buy the Blu-ray set (you seriously don't know what you are missing). Thanks!!

It was a great movie, the acting was good, graphics great, but a bit bloody, I guess it makes it feel more real. Can't wait to see the next season.

Had no idea what to expect from this series but gave it a chance....I absolutely loved it...It is very VERY ADULT and young children should NOT watch this...There is nudity and alot of blood ect...if u can get past that and just enjoy the story you will have no problem enjoying spartacus!

The story and visuals had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The only thing I didn't like is having to wait for season 2

If you liked the movie gladiator or any historical show or movie about the roman empire go ahead, it is amazing. It looks like 300 with the plot of gladiator....

This season will go down as a classic. It had everything! Romance, Action, Violence, Plot, Everything! The only thing I wish the bluray had was a digital copy so I could transfer it to my ipad and play it anywhere.

Got this for a good price for $24.99 at best buy. Great storyline as it exists after the original Spartacus. Has great action, gore, and violence. It's like 300 and Gladiator combined.

I tremendously enjoyed Spartacus on BluRay - This is a definite "buy" for your collection.
